Job Descriptions:

- To develop test set-ups and capabilities aligned to the company’s technology and product roadmap, and to integrate them with in-house manufacturing capabilities.
- To develop test methods and capabilities align to company’s product roadmap that meets in-house manufacturing capabilities.

Interact as necessary with the company’s joint venture partners to deploy products into manufacturing, relative to process control, yield improvement, scrap reduction, process optimization and product management.

Roles & Responsibilities:
1. Architect and implement automated test systems (including software, hardware, and database) for optical modules and components.

2. Design and develop test methodologies, set-ups, and testing plans and procedures to characterize the optical, electrical, RF, and thermal performance of optoelectronic devices, including but not limited to transceivers, photonic integrated circuits and their packaged modules, as well as photonic systems such as external cavity lasers, to meet targeted design goals and requirements.

3. Perform test and characterization runs to support the test requirements of New Product Innovation, New Requirement Engineering, Request for Customization, and Product Improvement projects. Develop manufacturing calibration and test algorithms and processes.

4. Collaborate cross-functionally on test development supporting design and quality teams (engineering verification test (EVT), design verification test (DVT), characterization test, and reliability qualification test).

5. Perform waveguide and optical coupling tests of passive components, and electro-optical tests to characterize active optoelectronic devices and photonic integrated circuits.

6. Contribute actively to the build-up of test and characterization capabilities of the Photonics Test Lab, including maintenance of test set-ups and jigs and calibration of the measurement instrumentation, as well as software control and automation of the set-ups.

7. Develop tools for data analysis, data reporting, and WIP control.

8. Lead the transfer of production stations and systems to off-shore contract manufacturers.

9. Drive cost reduction efforts such as test time reduction and yield enhancement.

10. Lead efforts to develop low-cost or specialty equipment and circuit boards for manufacturing and engineering uses.
