Amazon's Social Responsibility program drives customer trust, business continuity, and sustainable social impact by embedding respect for human rights and the environment throughout Amazon’s entire value chain. We implement company-wide standards and commitments such as our Global Human Rights Principles (GHRP) and Supply Chain Standards (SCS). We seek to continuously improve the tools and processes used in integrating human rights and environmental due diligence across the business.
We are looking for a Principal leader to manage internal business relationships sitting at the intersection of Amazon’s businesses and the HRSI team. The Principal will lead a small team of Regional Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) in India and Asia Pacific (JP, SG, AU) who provide support to regional business teams as they integrate human rights risk management into their businesses. This leader will support multiple complex relationships across the company, and be tasked to address new business issues as they arise by working with HRSI and legal to translate problems and integrate effective solutions with an eye toward automation, scalability, and efficiency.
You will be expected to handle both day-to-day issues and longer term, global, and program-wide strategies and initiatives. The Principal, IN and APAC Lead, will be a major player in key program developments across our team, including communicating industry initiatives, and working with external stakeholders to manage Amazon’s growing and diverse supply chain. This person will be responsible for influencing without authority broadly across Amazon.
Key job responsibilities
- Lead a small team of regional SMEs providing human rights support across the globe to WWOps business teams
- Coordinate with multiple Amazon businesses and functions across IN and APAC, as well as third-party human rights service providers and suppliers
- Lead cross functional teams across Amazon business units and support teams to enhance and evolve programs to drive measurable improvements on process efficiency and improvements
- Analyze program data and anecdotes (such as escalation data, audit findings, training data, etc.) to drive decisions, make improvements, spot trends, and create efficiencies
- Partner with tech, data, and science teams across Amazon to identify solutions to automate and scale the program
- Develop and improve project and program management processes, prioritizing ways to leverage technology and automate
