The Director - Channel Partnerships APAC, is responsible for defining and executing the local strategy to drive growth and value through the Channel segments in India, Middle East, Africa, SEA, Japan and HKT with specific focus on payment gateway partnerships, shopping carts and other relevant e-commerce verticals
- Drive channel partner strategy for PayPal APAC to expand the reach of PayPal and build merchant ubiquity in the market through focused partnerships
- Implement and execute on the strategic plan to aggressively drive PayPal’s growth through channel partnerships, expand reach to small & medium business merchants.
- Prepare a robust operating plan, sales targets, and accurate business forecasts so that budgets and forecasts are consistently met and exceeded.
- Deep dive into analytics to have an excellent knowledge of channel partner revenue performance, key levers and footings contributing to revenue growth.
- Maintain and develop existing and new channel customers through planned individual account support, and liaison with internal relationship managers and country leads for respective APAC markets
- Work closely with Global Lead for INTL Channel Partners on Product Discovery, Marketing and Sales engineering to optimize merchant onboarding process.
- Identify and pursue opportunities for PayPal to penetrate new markets or merchants, bringing in or responding to sales initiatives when appropriate.
- Responsible to meet and exceed financial and other targets set for individual and the team
**Roles & Responsibilities**
- Lead the volume growth and P&L Management across APAC on the Channel vertical by working with individual country partner leads and be the focal contact for new on-boarding partners
- Supporting Merchant on-boarding by providing sales and operational support.
- Be a critical part of the GTM strategy for developing and maintaining a strong engagement with exiting, on-boarding and future partners.
- Provide engaging and insightful knowledge about the general market, customers, competitors, and regulatory environment.
- Play a leadership role within the overall Channel partner organization and a people leader role within INTL partner team
- Lead and influence cross-functional stakeholder set to develop the APAC markets
- Lead a team of country partner leads and partners managers to deliver to maximum potential
- Ensuring that the channel partner strategy is consistent with the overall market strategy and helps provide PayPal access to small and medium merchants in identified markets / verticals.
**Qualifications**
- 15+ years’ experience in Sales with proven (relevant) experience in managing key partnerships and consistent track record of meeting individual targets in the markets
- MBA or quantitative degree preferred, but not mandatory
- Experience in driving strategy and execution for Platform products in a top tech/ payments financial services company at scale is a plus.
- Must have a track record of success in job performance and progression and the proven ability to both build credibility with senior management team and motivate teams
- Strong project management skills - able to lead, prioritize, develop, and provide clear direction, influence across cross functional teams.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, organizational, negotiation and presentation skills required.
- Able to work effectively in a highly-matrix, dynamic and fast paced environment; is open to change.
- Results oriented self-starter with plenty of initiative and drive.
