**Overview**:
GMO’s Singapore based client relations team is responsible for servicing, sales, and consultant relations activities for all of the key Asian markets. It is complemented by staff in Australia (who service Australasia). The on-ground team in Singapore is comprised of two sales staff team members, and an Associate who supports their activities. This role would bring the team to 4 members.
The role of a Relationship Associate (“Associate”) is to serve as a direct and dedicated resource for the above-mentioned Consultant Relations, Business Development, and Client Relations staff based within the Singapore office, and to a lesser extent, understand the needs of and support the Sydney based team members.
The Singapore team is responsible for maintaining and advancing GMO’s competitive edge in the areas of marketing, sales and client service to provide the best service possible consistent with achieving our investment goals. The Associate will work under the direct supervision of the regional team leader and their assigned regional team members.
**Specific Responsibilities Include**:
- Provide dedicated support to Relationship Managers in an effort to build and maintain relationships with GMO’s institutional prospects, investment consultants, and existing clients.
- Dedicated responsibility for specific reporting and fixed client service tasks each month
- generally being defined as clients with less than $20 million in assets with the firm and/or otherwise identified as generally low touch
- Interact effectively with prospects and consultants in person, over the phone and via written communication, as appropriate, and in conjunction with the Consultant Relations and Business Development teams
- Assist in the preparation for prospect, consultant, and client meetings, including coordination of calendars and sales database updates, participation in pre-meetings, meetings, presentation materials, and assistance with any follow-up items and meeting notes
- Develop a thorough understanding of GMO’s policies and procedures in order to help facilitate the efficient delivery of information and services to the prospect, consultant, and client community
- Understand and articulate GMO’s investment strategies, philosophy and process
- Work closely with GMO’s team of investment professionals independently and at the direction of the assigned regional team leader to insure each client, consultant, or prospect experiences the highest level of satisfaction from GMO
- Collaborate with various groups across GMO including: Marketing, Performance, Investment teams, Operations, RFP, as well as Legal and Compliance
**Required Skills**:
- At least 5 years’ experience in a similar role within an investment management business
- University Degree (or equivalent) in Commerce, Finance related discipline
- Demonstrated understanding of investment strategies and markets
- Demonstrated superior client service skills
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to manage internal and external stakeholders with confidence
- Strong analytical skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication capabilities
- Previous experience working with relationship, marketing, or consultant management teams preferred
