**Position summary statement:
Under the general guidance of the Banquet Operations Manager, the Banquet Captain is responsible for supervising a team of service staff assigned to him, and in co-coordinating with the kitchen and stewarding to ensure a smooth and efficient catering service.

**Primary Responsibilities**
- To set up function rooms.
- To co-ordinate on the manpower required for functions.
- To co-ordinate with person-in-charge (guests) on details.
- To check overall grooming standards of part-time staff
- To train part-time staff on banquet service procedure and standards.
- To keep daily outlet checklist (opening & closing)
- To conduct roll call and brief staff on job assignments
- To check all function room set up before each event in line to standards
- To ensure part time staff are performing in line to department’s service standards.
- To attend to needs and expectations of seminar / meeting guests.
- To co-ordinate on the pickup of food from the kitchen.
- To attend to guests complaints, if any, during functions.
- Execute service recovery initiatives to resolve guest negative feedback before the end of the function
- To constantly supervise the banquet operations.
- To assist in making up the bills and settlement before the function ends..
- To engage guests to get preferences, collect comment cards and database
- To be responsible for performing opening and closing duties, plus other duties as and when required.
- To attend F&B department morning briefing in the absence of supervisor
- To ensure cleanliness, maintenance in banquet
- To be accountable for the department HOE and linen
- To be responsible on the tidiness of all banquet stores
- To raise store requisition to replenish stock whenever necessary
- To assist on timesheet overtime tabulation during mid-month
- To be flexible in lateral service to other outlets when called upon or scheduled
- To undertake any other related task/duty/assignment that may be given by the supervisor or manager.
