DESIGNATION : Centre Director, Overseas Centre Ho Chi Minh City (OCHCMC) (3-year contract)

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Represent SMU in Vietnam as the chief representative of the University to deepen the University’s engagement with industry and institutional collaborators and partners, while rapidly expanding these networks.
- Direct managing the OCHCMC operations, adhere to operational guidance from the Regional Director and Office of Overseas Centres in executing market development strategies in Vietnam.
- Responsible for delivery of business and operational targets assigned to OCHCMC, managing the resourcing at OCHCMC to achieve its targets.
- Support SMU stakeholders build and/or enhance their presence and branding, including social media marketing in Vietnam, navigate through regulatory frameworks & business norms, to establish strategic contacts with relevant local counterparts.
- Identify opportunities and support delivery of programmes in Vietnam and Singapore, in alignment with the University stakeholders’ marketing and branding strategies to strengthen the good name of SMU.
- Analyse the local industry challenges, local government agendas and initiatives so as to inform strategic decision-making at the University and seizing relevant opportunities.
- Drive the establishment of SMU Alumni chapter in Ho Chi Minh City, organising regular networking events in collaboration with Office of Alumni Relations.
- Ensure smooth operational audit at OCHCMC, identify and resolve service gaps, and implement resourcing plans to trouble shoot. Overall responsibility in ensuring legal and operational compliance of OCHCMC/Representative Office.

QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s Degree, Master’s degree preferred.
- Minimum 5 years relevant management experience based in Ho Chi Minh City.
- Excellent business development and communications skills are necessary.
- Able to provide a track record of career and/or professional achievements in Vietnam. Experience in regional business development is preferred.
- Background in higher education and lifelong learning preferred.
- Fluent in English and able to communicate in Vietnamese.
