Regional Controller

Management Labcorp DD Asia Pacific regional Controllers team with responsibility for ensuring complete, accurate and timely transaction processing, accounting, reporting and compliance for various group companies and branches. This role oversees a team of accountant and accounts payable staff based in Singapore and Japan and supports CTTS business operations in 4 countries in the region: Singapore, Japan, South Korea and Malaysia.

**Essential Job Duties**:
Ensure accurate accounting in accordance with relevant local and US GAAP accounting standards and policies. Primary responsibility is oversight of local business expenses and balance sheets (including inventory and fixed assets), with support for Revenue Recognition as required by Global Controllers.
- Provide support and regional expertise to businesses and the countries they operate in. Liaise with business line Global Controllers and Corporate Controller teams as necessary to communicate and resolve accounting and reporting issues.
- Manage month end close in accordance with the close timetable.
- Review monthly reporting and ensure significant variances from monthly trend and forecast are investigated and explained. Provide support to local and global FP&A team regarding actual results and variances from forecast.

Maintain good working relationships with Labcorp Shared Service Center, Tax Department and Payroll Department members. Ensure issues or concerns are properly and timely communicated.
- Review monthly cash flow forecasts and work with Global Treasury to ensure timely intercompany fundings.
- Ensure monthly balance sheet reconciliations are prepared and reviewed in accordance with Company policy.
- Maintain strong relationships with local service providers, advisors and auditors.
- Ensure timely completion and filing of monthly/quarterly/annual VAT returns.
- Ensure timely completion of annual audits and filing of statutory financial statements.
- Ensure timely completion and filing of annual corporate income tax (CIT) returns.
- Ensure effective and consistent operation of internal controls in accordance with Sarbanes Oxley (SOX) requirements.
- Ensure continual review and improvement of processes to strengthen controls, improve productivity and reduce cost.
- Support global and regional process improvement initiatives.
- Support the set up of new companies and branches as requested from Corporate.
- Complete ad hoc projects and tasks as required.

**Experience**:
Minimum Required:

- 10 - 15 years experience, managing Controllers Department for multinational company.
- Asia Pacific regional accounting experience.
- Strong accounting, reporting and compliance experience, including VAT/GST, audit, statutory financial statements and corporate income tax.
- Significant staff management experience.
- Financial systems experience, preferably Peoplesoft or other large ERPs.
- Experience in an international, multicurrency environment.
- Good time management and prioritisation skills.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.

**Education/Qualifications/Certifications and Licenses**
Recommended:

- Degree qualified
- Professional Accounting Qualification CPA, CMA, Chartered Accountant or local equivalent.
