Accountant

To ensure the completeness and accuracy of transactions entered into the General Ledger of all entities assigned to this role in Asia-Pacific region.
- Responsible for the reconciliation of all general ledger accounts, monthly journals, input of journals and ledger queries.
- Prepare monthly financial reports and variance analysis for review with Regional Controller. Take responsibilities to review and investigate transactions reported, as needed, to ensure a meaningful report.
- Prepare monthly cash forecast to meet operational needs to ensure adequate funding. In addition, to monitor cash balances at optimal level for working capital on a month to month basis.

**Essential Job Duties**:

- Monthly reconciliation of balance sheet accounts for entities assigned.
- Provide full explanations, calculations, supporting documentation and schedules for all reconciliations.
- Ensure all adjusting journals required are processed promptly.
- Ensure all reconciling items are cleared in a timely manner.
- Communicate any process shortcomings or accounting control weaknesses identified

during the reconciliation process and to bring to the attention of the supervisor.
- Assist with the preparation of major balance sheet accounts reconciliations (i.e. bank, intercompany, unbilled/unearned revenue).
- Review, input and post monthly journals, as needed.
- Review and ensure timely reconciliation of fixed assets sub-ledger and work with Asset Management team to resolve differences on a timely manner.
- Assist Regional Controller with the month end process.
- Review various entities tax and other statutory returns as needed and ensure timely filing to the relevant authorities.
- Responsible for statutory audits for entities assigned (by working with statutory auditors) and ensure timely close of audit to meet statutory reporting deadlines.
- Support global and regional process improvement initiatives, as it arises.
- Support set up of new legal entities and branches, as requested by Corporate.
- Complete ad hoc projects and tasks, as assigned.

**Experience**:
Minimum Required:

- 5-7 years experience in finance and accounting of large MNC working with multiple groups of people located in different locations.
- Asia Pacific regional accounting experience.
- Strong accounting, reporting and compliance experience, including VAT, audit, statutory financial statements and corporate income tax.
- Financial systems experience, preferably Peoplesoft or other large ERPs.
- Experience in an international, multicurrency environment.
- Good time management and prioritisation skills.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.

**Education/Qualifications/Certifications and Licenses**
Recommended:

- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in Accounting
- Professional Accounting Qualification ACCA, CA
