Trade Finance-document Checker

**Responsibilities**:
- Import and/or Export document checking with minimum supervision.
- Conversant with trade related commercial rules and able to provide solution or explanation to client in relation to UCP 600, ISBP, ISP98, URR725, URC522, URDG 758 or incoterms 2010.
- Highlight irregularities and red flag items for credit risks approval
- Conduct Risk /Anti-money Laundering/Trade-Based Money Laundering screening
- Able to handle commodities LCs (Letter of Credits) and documents
- Well-verse with the flow of import/export transaction across different functions & products e.g. Letter of Credit (LC) advising, document checking, acceptance, reimbursement claim and payment. Liaise with customers on document discrepancies and provide appropriate advice on rectification and followup actions.
**Qualifications**:
- At least 5 years working experience with Commodity Trade Financing banks in Import and Export LC documents checking
- Highly conversant with general LC practice rules (ie UCP600, ISP98, ISBP and URR725), expert opinions and legal decisions
- Strong LC document checking skills (preferably with CDCS), especially commodity trade LC documents
- Familiar with LCs for the commodities trade (energy, hard and soft commodities) will be advantageous
- Good understanding of trade finance with the ability to mitigate risks, evaluate options and provide solutions
- Strong understanding and working knowledge with various SWIFT message types
- Resourceful and able to work effectively under pressure individually and also in a team
- Meticulous, quality and service oriented, with the ability to perform critical evaluation and provide effective solutions
