Dessert Chef

Dessert chef is responsible for operating the pastry section of the Kitchen while working closely with the Quality Production Manager. A Dessert Chef will also be required to plan production and develop some seasonal offerings.
Responsible to create good quality desserts and pastries using Standard recipes and presentations in order to maintain quality standards and consistency of the product. Also assist in production and maintenance of par stocks of desserts and ice cream with proper rotation of products and maintain highest cleanliness and hygiene standard in the dessert section.
**_Responsibilities:

- Manages all day-to-day operations of the dessert section of the kitchen
- Prepare a wide variety of goods such as ice cream, pastries, puffs, tarts following traditional brand recipes and some modern new creation recipes
- Able to produce all baked goods including but not limited to cupcakes, sponge cakes, mousse and etc
- Able to develop, designs, or creates new ideas and items for pasrty Kitchen
- Ensure excellent quality in the production of pastry products
- Follows proper handling and right temperature of all food products
- Coordinates and designate works to commis pastry chefs engaged in food preparation.
- Supervise and coordinate all dessert preparation and presentation
- Checks the quality of raw and baked food products to ensure that standards are met
- Assists in determining how food should be presented and creates decorative food displays
- Must possess a positive attitude and have the ability to work with a variety of people and in cooperation with co-workers efficiently and effectively
- Ensure compliance with food hygiene and Health and Safety standards

- _Professional Certifications & Above
- 2 years’ experience in the culinary, food and beverage, or related professional area or higher nitec in Culinary
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in Pastry and Baking field or Pastry Chef Experience with high volume food production
- Good knowledge of different types of dessert, bakes, and cakes decorating
- Good and basic knowledge of computer
- Possess professional disposition with good communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work a variety of shifts including weekends, days, afternoons and evenings
- Positive attitude and Good communication skills
