
Pastry Chef

We are looking for a pastry chef who will be responsible for designing, producing, and presenting a wide range of desserts, pastries, and baked goods
As a Pastry Chef, you will:
Create and modify dessert recipes to achieve a desired taste, texture, and appearance
Prepare and bake various pastries, cakes, cookies, bread, and other baked goods. This involves mixing, shaping, and baking as well as managing quantities and production schedules
Maintain high-quality standards for all baked goods, ensuring they are consistently delicious and aesthetically pleasing
Manage inventory of pastry ingredients and supplies, and order new stock as needed
Work closely with other kitchen staff, such as sous chefs and line cooks, to coordinate dessert offerings with the main menu
Collaborate with the head chef or management to develop and update the dessert menu, taking into account seasonal ingredients and customer preferences
Train and supervise pastry assistants, ensuring they follow recipes and production standards
Monitor ingredient costs, minimize waste, and optimize production processes to maintain profitability
Qualification:
Culinary school or baking and pastry arts degree is often preferred.
Proven experience as a pastry chef or similar role.
Strong knowledge of baking techniques and pastry production.
Creativity and artistic skills for dessert decoration and presentation.
Attention to detail and precision in measurements and cooking.
Time management skills to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations.
Strong teamwork and communication skills.
Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
