Wealth Credit Management (WCM) at Citi is a newly formed business line to provide integrated end to end credit underwriting, transaction and portfolio management in partnership with all the origination businesses of the Private Bank and Wealth Management of Citi. Loan Management & IF Deal Closing team in Loan Product & Transaction Management is the dedicated team supporting multiple aspects of the lending lifecycle, specifically to ensure a smooth transition of client to servicing activities and ongoing oversight of the loan lifecycle post closing and also to interpret, review and collect all finance and regulatory documents needed to close and book loan deals as well as to ensure critical data are captured properly in various systems and can be validated against gold source and appropriate legal document.
We are looking to hire an experienced professional to contribute and perform a role on the IF Deal Closing team & Loan Management team within Loan Product and Transaction Management in WCM.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage and contribute to the creation of processes, standards, procedures, controls, training, and implementation of function across LMT.
Manage ad-hoc servicing requests, monitor escalations and coordinate payoffs / terminations
Monitor ongoing reconciliation reports to ensure persistent data quality and coordinate remedial actions across loan systems.
Provide ongoing oversight of Operational KPI / KRI
Institute and ensure effectiveness of controls and processes meet internal policies and regulatory requirements/expectations
Review the Term Sheets/Documentation for new closings / amendments/ restructures.
Provides checklists to transactors / underwriters detailing all documents needed to close.
Review the draft credit agreement for roles and responsibilities as well as Operational mechanics - compatibility with loan product processor and any manual touch points involved.
Continue to work in concert with Transactors & external counsel for changes / updates to the draft credit agreement and provide feedback as needed.
Provide formally sign off on the final draft agreement prior to the executed version. Sign-off includes the verification of the credit line in CP vs the credit agreement.
IF team closer continually confers with Operations to address issues and to ensure timely booking (and funding) and confirms to transactors.
Escalate issues with appropriate stake holders
Knowledge, Experience and Skills:
Solid knowledge of Loan product and/or Loan Operations activities
Expert in reading and interpreting credit agreements
Proven ability to collaborate with team members and senior management within the lines of business and across multiple stakeholders
Expert in reading and interpreting complex credit agreements
Understanding of loan accounting concepts
Understanding of process redesign / re-engineering and execution
Analytical capabilities including the ability to identify, escalate, and propose solutions to complex problems
Proven track record in establishing and maintain business line partnerships
Strong influencing skills and ability to work in an environment where priorities are frequently changing
Adapt to an evolving process and proactively suggest process improvements
Ability to multi-task through the practice of strong organizational and time management skills with experience in continuously following-up with various stakeholders and execution team
Qualifications:
5+ years of experience in large financial institution is a must
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint)
Prior experience in Loan product is preferred
Understanding of lending rules and regulation is a plus
Experience with exposure and transactions reporting tools
Attention to detail
Excellent oral and written communication capability
Ability to take initiative and self-motivate
Developed analytical and problem-solving abilities
