**Objective / Summary of the Position**

The position is responsible for leading the region’s ocean freight strategy, covering FCL and LCL services. This includes managing carrier partnerships, service quality, and profitability across Southeast Asian markets. The Director drives business growth, improves service performance and aligns regional efforts with global goals while adapting to local market needs.

**Duties & Responsibilities**
- Develop and execute the regional ocean‑freight strategy in line with corporate goals and market trends.
- Lead and coach country ocean‑freight teams to ensure consistent, high‑quality service delivery.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with ocean carriers, co‑loaders, and shipping alliances.
- Oversee procurement, rate negotiations, and space agreements to secure competitive pricing and service stability.
- Collaborate with commercial teams to support sales initiatives and provide expert guidance on trade‑lane development.
- Ensure operational excellence by standardising processes, optimising workflows, and driving continuous‑improvement initiatives.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) such as on‑time performance and customer satisfaction, taking corrective action as needed.
- Champion digitalisation and sustainability initiatives within the ocean‑freight function.
- Ensure full compliance with local and international trade regulations, customs requirements, and company policies.

**Requirements**:

- Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum 10 years of progressive experience in ocean freight, including regional leadership roles.
- Proven track record in managing commercial and operational aspects of ocean freight across multiple countries.
- Strong understanding of global shipping markets, carrier networks, and international trade practices.
- Excellent negotiation, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
- Strategic thinker with strong business acumen and the ability to translate strategy into actionable plans.
- Proficient in supply chain systems, digital freight platforms, and performance analytics.
- Ability to travel regionally as required.
