The Singtel Group is undergoing transformation to reshape its business with changes being undertaken to deepen our engagement with customers across the business as we compete with the players in the telecommunications / ICT/ digital space while maintaining our lead in the core telecommunications space. The Group Risk Management function is undergoing change to augment its resource capability and capacity to better support the Board / Board Risk Committee and Risk Management Committee, following the increased expectations and heightened attention over enterprise risk management.

As such, we have a newly created position for an Associate Director to join us for Risk Advisory and Management for our business.
- Work primarily with the Consumer SG businesses and functions to implement and embed the appropriate risk management policies and procedures taking into account the Board-approved risk appetite and risk tolerance; integrate risk management within the Annual Operating Plan / Budget and any other critical processes
- Act as the risk advisor to the business units and functions, and promote risk awareness and accountability to all levels of staff and management
- Facilitate the preparation / update of risk registers and risk reports to summarise the key risks and mitigations. This entails identifying and assessing risk areas where there exist gaps pertaining to policies or processes, and / or ineffective or inadequate resources (system, people, others), in order that the appropriate mitigation plans can be developed and implemented.
- Promote a risk and control awareness culture through risk awareness programme (communications, workshops, dialogues) and sharing of past learnings
- Support BU Management in assessing the risks and contract deviations on major contracts. This entails having a good understanding of the underlying risks and legal implications of the contract deviations (both sales and procurement contracts) that require approval by Management.
- Lead a small BU risk team to provide solid risk advisory and assist with bottom-up risk reviews.
- Support assurance work around mitigating controls for key risks, and to monitor and report on key risk indicators for the business
- Provide support in execution or roll-out of GRM initiatives which could encompass, risk, BCM, insurance or compliance topics

**Requirements**:

- A good degree in Finance, Accounting, Business or Economics
- At least 10-12 years of risk management, consulting, or auditing work experience
- Experience in working in challenging business environment with proven capabilities in organizing, summarizing and presenting complex information
- Experience in reviewing commercial contracts and good understanding of the legality of contract terms
- Advanced knowledge of risk management and control concepts, leading risk management practices and standards (e.g. ISO 31000, COSO)
- Good engagement skills. Good communication (oral, written) and presentation skills and proven track record in interacting with all levels of management
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills - independent and objective
- Strong leadership and engagement skills with ability to manage across functions, levels, cultures and geographies. Good communication (oral, written) and presentation skills and proven track record in interacting with all levels of management
