We are looking for a Corporate Counsel - South East Asia.
**What this job involves**:
Using your legal expertise
Your primary duty is to support the General Counsel - South East Asia on all legal and compliance matters in Thailand. This role involves direct interaction with internal clients as well as external parties such as clients, vendors and other third parties. You will be identifying and managing risk exposures, and delivering proactive, effective and strategic advice for our operations in Thailand and other parts of the South East Asia region.
You will play an important role in advising on, drafting and negotiating contracts associated with each of the firm’s business lines, including assisting with tender responses. You will also be advising on legal and regulatory systems of Thailand and ensuring that we comply with relevant legal and ethical obligations.
Contributing to the team’s strategic direction
Your role involves providing support to each of the firm’s business interests and commercial objectives. You will be assisting in the firm’s global legal and compliance projects and special projects, including entity set-up, M&A and joint ventures. You will also be assisting with the development of processes and procedures to identify and manage legal risks, including conducting of training, and handling ethics and compliance issues. In addition, you will be responsible for handling of disputes, including HR issues, and litigation management.
Other areas of legal work will include general corporate, commercial and regulatory work, with a focus on the issues associated with the property services industry.
Educated and experienced
You hold a law degree from a recognised law school with 8 to 10 years of post-admission experience in private practice and in-house position. It would be great if you have experience working in an MNC.
People person
You have the ability to build strong relationships and engage with a very broad range of stakeholders with diverse skillsets and personalities. You also have good communication skills.
Capable
You are commercially savvy, with a high responsive, proactive, and solutions oriented mind-set. You are able to effectively juggle priorities to meet timeframes and deadlines set by the business. You are also able to work independently as well as in a team.
