Thales today employs over 2,100 people in Singapore across all its business areas.
**The Corporate Communications Manager is responsible for developing and executing strategic external and internal communications plans for Thales in the Asia region, comprising South East Asia, Japan, Korea and Taiwan.**
**The role is focused on protecting and enhancing the Thales brand and reputation internally and externally, through media relations, social media engagement and in employee communications **.
The Manager will work closely with key internal stakeholders in the region (Regional VP, Country Directors, Strategy & Marketing, HR and Key Account Managers) in creative storytelling for the Thales brand, closely aligning with the Group’s strategic communications objectives. The role promotes all of Thales’ businesses in the region (where country-appropriate), including in Defence & Security, Aerospace, Space, and Digital Identity & Security.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Be a strategic contributor to the communications team, providing both long-term direction and near-term execution for corporate PR efforts in the region
- Develop and manage strong partnerships with Thales’ regional leaders to provide high-quality communications that drive external brand awareness.
- Be the primary media relations contact in the region, working to achieve strong share of voice, and increase thought-leadership across all media channels.
- Manage PR agency for activities including building and maintaining relationships with key media, drafting responses, organising events, pitching stories, garnering media attributions, writing and placing contributed content; tracking performance on KPIs and deliverables.
- Create engaging content for a variety of communications vehicles (press releases, customer reference stories, briefing books, key messages, speeches, social media content, intranet)
- Support in crisis communications - providing messaging and strategic counsel to internal stakeholders.
- Ensure the development and protection of the company’s reputation, the consistency of its messages and the promotion of all its businesses, aligned with the strategy defined by the Group Media Relations team.
- Work closely with (Group) Digital Communications team on digital / social media developments and suggest best channels and disruptive practices.
- Take complicated issues and create deliverables to effectively communicate the corporate point of view to employees and external stakeholders
- Travel within the region to support business needs accordingly.
- Acts as a deputy to the Communication Director for Asia
**Experience & Credentials**
- **Minimum 8 years experience in Corporate / Brand / Marketing communications, public relations, journalism or marketing role - developed in-house or at an agency.**:
- An exceptional writer (in English) in creating content in a variety of styles (press releases, bylines, social media, internal stories), with strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Effective multi-tasker who is able to work under pressure to meet deadlines, including quick reactions in times of crisis.
- Polished and professional, with a high degree of integrity and sense of confidentiality.
- Results-oriented, creative and meticulous with keen eye for detail.
- Strong interpersonal skills - the ability to comfortably navigate a complex matrix organisation and collaborate effectively with stakeholders from different management levels, geographies and cultures is imperative.
- Adept at managing agencies and projects
- A team player but someone who is self-driven and can work independently with mínimal supervision
