**What do we expect from you?**

Under the guidance of the Director of Engineering or any other authorized by the management, to maintain equipment and building fabric as directed to ensure that the hotel gives the illusion to every arriving guest that they are the only person to have used the facility

**How your day looks like?**
- To carry out maintenance duties as required
- To train and supervise the maintenance team
- To attend to all types of repair and maintenance work of the hotel premises including any new additions/extensions or any other properties
- To supervise the issue of tools relating to the Engineering department and their safe return
- To ensure correct induction of all employees and the necessary follow up action,
- To participate in hotel energy conservation program
- To attend to all work requests, repair and maintenance works
- To keep all necessary records for Human Resources purposes
- To be responsible for contractors working on site, their safety induction and maintenance of records of all jobs undertaken and report to assistant director of engineering
- To be responsible for purchasing products for the engineering department
- To source any product relating to the fabric of the building to ensure appropriate levels of par stock
- To liaise with contractors and suppliers
- To raise, accept and monitor Purchase Orders
- To accept deliveries in an appropriate and timely manner
- Maintain close communication with all departments
- To supervise the maintenance team, and any external contractors who may be employed by the hotel to carry out maintenance work
- Responsible for servicing and attending to repairs on various types of equipment such as laundry, kitchen, heating, ventilating, air conditioning equipment, including pumps, motors, fans, water treatment plant, sewage plant, electricity generators, power, lights, CCTV, telephone, TV, fire life & safety equipment and system
- To ensure that all records in areas of health and safety are kept up-to-date
- To be part of the fire team and assist for any emergencies
- To monitor the utility readings for the hotel to ensure good power management
- To be aware of changes in regulations, environmental issues etc., and participate in any courses necessary to keep abreast of such issues and any similar developments
- To carry out other work which might reasonably be required and to be available for emergency callout
- To prepare monthly maintenance status report
- To prepare spare parts list for engineering requirements
- To structure the team’s workload to ensure projects are completed on time
- To plan operational guest projects to ensure minimum impact
- To oversee the team’s work and ensure deadlines are met and work is completed to a set standard and carry out PPM’S.
- Attend the weekly Housekeeping meeting and be a part of the Health & Safety Committee.
