SUMMARY

SAP Intelligent Enterprise Solutions (IES) department has the purpose to “Deliver and Run the Intelligent Enterprise”, fully aligned with overall SAP’s purpose to “Help the world run better and improve people’s lives”. IES is SAP’s technology backbone and most compelling reference customer, and as such, we influence product development and strategy, with our customer experience at heart.

Furthermore, we build and operate a central chatbot platform based on SAP Conversational AI with the aim to provide capabilities from all lines of business through a single digital assistant. We also build those capabilities (individual chatbots) as well as support other teams in building further ones.

We recently established our new operating model (OpsModel 2.0) based on autonomous teams and SAP New Work practice where we put people at the centre of everything we do.

We are looking for IT Technology Consultant with a role of AI Developer/MLOps Engineer to be involved in all aspects of developing AI/ML platform (“ML Lab” tool), AI infrastructure as well as operationalizing ML models for our customer’s use cases in order to provide business benefits and tackle customer’s pain-points through AI technologies.

Role Requirements
- Work with a team of AI scientists, MLOps engineers, Product Owners and Scrum Masters.
- Contribute to the development of an open-source ML experimentation platform.
- Build and maintain the infrastructure required for fast delivery of productive ML models and accelerate the adoption of MLOps best practice.
- Ideally, you are open to also conduct some AI scientist tasks in our ML projects with knowledge in Python libraries and Machine Learning frameworks (Numpy, Pandas, Keras, scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch, gensim, etc)
- Contribute to overall team’s success and lead certain initiatives within our autonomous team setup.
- Continuous learning and keeping self up to date with state-of-the-art algorithms and technologies in software engineering and ML (e.g. Optical Character Recognition (OCR), Natural Language Processing (NLP), Computer Vision (CV), Time Series, MLOps).

ROLE REQUIREMENTS:

- Full understanding of major Machine Learning algorithms and concepts including MLOps.
- Experienced in Python backend development (FastAPI, Postgres, OpenAPI).
- Experienced in DevOps practices and tools (Jenkins, GitHub, (for internal offering: XMake, Hyperspace)).
- Experienced with development tools like Jupyter, Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, Github, etc. and major (ML) programming languages such as Python, Java etc.
- Ideally, experienced in a variety of Python libraries and Machine Learning frameworks (Numpy, Pandas, Keras, scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch, gensim, etc)
- Self-motivated, result-oriented and creative.
- Bring Can-Do-Attitude and positive mindset.
- Challenge the status quo, embrace and be proactive to drive changes for the sake of improvement.
- Team player, collaborative and committed to continuous learning & sharing skills to others.
- Excellent proven presentation and communication skills incl. ability to translate & articulate AI to non AI/technical audience.
- Bachelor or master’s degree in computer science/Engineering/AI or related technical fields
- Basic understanding of machine learning concepts and the ML Life Circle.
- Experience with BTP development (cloud foundry and Kyma).
- Knowledge in Security/DPP topics is beneficial
- Additional certificates and courses focusing on AI/ML are beneficial
- Experience in developing & deploying ML models is beneficial.
- Good understanding of Self-Organizing / Autonomous team concept is beneficial
