We are looking for a senior leader with expertise in technology and digital policy and regulation in the Asia-Pacific region. You will ideally have first-hand experience of policy and issues gained from work in a major technology company, in a major consultancy or via work in leading regulatory authorities in the region. While we are open to three locations (Hong Kong, Sydney and Singapore), the preference is for this role to be based in** Singapore**.
You will work closely with fellow Partners, Senior Advisers, Directors, Managers and Consultants right across the business and across countries to support clients on public policy, politics, regulation, and commercial strategy in the technology sector.
We are helping the world’s leading technology businesses navigate cutting-edge policy and regulatory issues in countries across Asia-Pacific. Governments in the region are trying to accelerate digital growth and are also considering new regulatory approaches to AI, online safety, and competition in digital markets. Flint supports businesses to engage governments and regulators on these issues.
As a senior hire to our rapidly growing team in Asia-Pacific, you will play an important part in helping Flint further scale its growing presence in the region by growing its roster of clients, in the technology sector, being responsible for outstanding client delivery, managing the existing high calibre technology team and recruiting across all levels to enable you to deliver effectively. You will directly contribute to the growth of our business in the region, building our brand and generating the ideas that make a difference, both for our clients and for Flint.
**WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR**
You will have:
- In-depth knowledge of regulatory regimes, including for content, competition, data, cloud and Artificial Intelligence (AI) as well as of competition policy in the technology sector.
- An appreciation of the wider dimensions of tech policy
- from both economic and social policy perspectives in key jurisdictions in the Asia-Pacific region, as well as a wider understanding of the evolving policy debate globally (particularly in EU/UK/US markets) and the impact it is having on developments in the region.
- A strong network of key stakeholders in the digital/tech sector in the region, including senior policymakers, regulators and individuals in technology and telecoms firms.
- Experience in scaling rapidly growing businesses and working in a start-up environment.
- Excellent analytical, research and problem-solving skills - the ability to draw out the implications of complex evidence and analysis to give clear strategy and policy advice.
- Excellent leadership and management skills, including evidence of leading teams to deliver stretching goals under pressure, ability to delegate effectively and support individuals to succeed and grow; and outstanding organisational skills including the capacity to manage multiple client teams and work programmes.
- Outstanding written communication skills, with proven ability to draft clear documents for internal and external audiences with varying degrees of expert knowledge.
- Strong interpersonal skills - flexible approach and the ability to work well across teams, both with colleagues, clients or stakeholders. Ability to manage upwards and downwards and provide coaching to junior team members.
- Strong oral communication skills, including the ability to communicate complex issues to non-specialists.
- Personal drive and proactivity, you will be able to make things happen and be able to work comfortably under pressure, and to tight deadlines while maintaining highest standards.
- Fluency in English is required. Aptitude in other regional languages is desirable but not required (in particular, Mandarin, Korean or Japanese).
