[What the role is]
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Grants Planning intern to support Tote Board’s Grants Planning Team in conducting comprehensive landscape scans to inform grantmaking-related policy reviews. Besides contributing to policy research and analysis, the intern may have the opportunity to participate in the development of Artificial Intelligence (AI) tool/programme to process and interpret data (e.g., identify trends or patterns across multiple datasets).
[What you will be working on]
The intern will be focusing on the following key initiatives:
1. Landscape scans of grantmaking
- Identify key stakeholders in Singapore’s grantmaking space and conduct extensive landscape scans of current grantmaking practices (e.g. funding principles/criteria and across various sectors and agencies
- Research emerging trends and innovative approaches in grantmaking
- Consolidate and synthesise data points into a comprehensive database that would be used to generate insights on governance frameworks, emerging trends, and best practices in grantmaking
2. Enhancing Grantmaking through AI tool/programme
- Work with the team to develop AI tool/programme to support grantmaking work - for example, assist in translating research findings into formats suitable for AI system integration, and build a knowledge base to support AI learning and decision-making in the grantmaking context
- Participate in testing and refining the AI bot's responses and capabilities
3. Ad-hoc Administrative Duties
- Maintain good records management/knowledge management practices by updating and maintaining repository of project documents
- Support Supervisor/Mentor in any other tasks/projects assigned
[What we are looking for]
**Requirements**:
- Currently pursuing a degree in a relevant field such as Business, Social Science, Public Policy/Administration, Computing, Computer Science or a related discipline
- Possesses strong research, analytical and communication skills, with the ability to perform quantitative and qualitative analysis and basic proficiency on with Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools (e.g. Machine Learning and AI bot development)
- Demonstrates familiarity with Microsoft Office tools, data analysis tools and techniques
**Learning Outcome**:
Upon completion of this internship, the intern will be able to:
- Develop in-depth understanding of grantmaking processes and practices
- Deepen his/her research and analytical skills, particularly in landscape analysis and evaluation
- Gain hands-on experience and skills in compiling structured/non-structured data sets for AI training
The internship programme spans 12 to 16 weeks and can take place at any time until 31 March 2026. Please indicate your available start and end dates in your CV.
