As the Security Operations Specialist, you will be responsible for responding to cyber threats and proactively mitigating security risk. You will play a key role in preparing for and responding to security incidents as well as driving various remediation activities. This role requires a strong technical foundation, experience in cyber defense and the ability to identify improvement opportunities while driving remediation.

Our Information Security team’s mission is to ensure the development, implementation, and management of a comprehensive program that effectively protects the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of Point72 information assets. Our team is comprised of security professionals with expertise in a diverse portfolio of security disciplines.

**What you’ll do**
- Analyze security alerts, identify security incidents, execute response protocols and act as a lead incident handler
- Manage third party penetration tests, provide input to remediation plans and drive solutions to closure
- Prepare for security incidents by helping with the creation and execution of table top exercises
- Analyze threat intelligence to provide context to Point72 and drive threat hunting, detection use cases and situational awareness for monitoring alerts
- Engage in threat hunt preparation, execution and take action on findings
- Oversee vulnerability operations to ensure platform owners are reaching remediation targets
- Participate in zero day response by analyzing detection capabilities, runbooks and managing remediation
- Ensure security control coverage and configuration compliance
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve security controls - alert tuning, new use cases, and introducing/enhancing security capabilities
- Maintain procedural runbooks and operational documentation
- Actively participate in the analysis and continuous improvement of the security program

**What’s required**
- 6+ years in a technical security role (e.g. Tier 3 SOC Analyst, Incident Response, Penetration Tester, etc.)
- Experience analyzing security alerts and responding to incidents acting as a lead incident handler
- Experience with security detection, monitoring and incident response procedures
- Strong knowledge of information security principles, practices and technologies, including monitoring, incident response, vulnerability management and penetration testing
- Strong analytical skills with a keen attention to detail
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Financial services experience a plus
