**Outdoors Adventure / Camping Educational Instructors**

**Roles and responsibilities**

**Confidently conduct adventure (camp or otherwise) activities and facilitate students’ reflection and learning.**

**Very well versed in and providing safety instructions on technical equipment for adventure activities**

**Very well versed in carrying out safety protocols to ensure participants’ safety.**

**Undertake all other admin or logistics tasks necessary for the correct execution of any adventure (camp or otherwise) activities.**

**Able to plan and evaluate and assess the adventure activities, and determine if the learning goals are in the proocess of being achieved, or ultimately achieved.**

**Able to undertake all of the above in both land (including those at great heights) and water activities.**

**Requirements**:
**You should love outdoor adventure programs, camps, or activities.**

**Be fit without medical conditions that will prevent you from executing any of the above.**

**Able to connect and engage with students.**

**Able to handle stress.**

**Must be able to execute and take charge and be responsible and supervise land (including those at great heights) and water activities.**

**Experience and certificates or courses for conducting outdoor activities.**

**These skills are optional but will be a bonus if you possess them**:
**1. Experience in High Challenge Courses, Abseiling Station, Sports Climbing (Top-rope Climbing), Sports Climbing (Lead Climbing), Dragonboat, Confidence enhancing activitiesor other activities that promote bonding and teamwork**

**communication such as high elements**

**2. These certifications or their international equivalent**:

- **Outward Bound School Challenge Course Instructor Level 1 or 2; or - Association for Challenge Course Technology (ACCT) Practitioner Level 1 or 2 Full Certification**
- **Singapore Mountaineering Federation (SMF) Abseiling Proficiency Level 3**
- **SMF Sport Climbing Instructor Cat 1; or SMF Activity Supervisor (Sport Climbing) or ACCT Practitioner Level 1 or 2 Full Certification**
**3. Experience and knowledge in Refuse disposal, Fire precaution (especially when cooking outdoors), Cleanliness of the camp compound**

**In addition, Instructors should ideally be able do the following**:
**1. Draw out Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) competencies in the participants, especially**
- **Self-Management,**
- **Relationship (peers, teachers and parents/guardian) and**
- **Responsible Decision Making skills.**
**2. Empower participants to improve their resilience and cooperate with others towards a common objective.**

**3. Create an enviornment enhancing experience and learning opportunities of the participants towards the school’s Learning for Life Programme (LLP) values and develop social emotional competencies, self-efficacies, leadership and competencies, such as**:
**Preparing participants for future roles in society.**

**To counter bad influences in society.**

**Moral values such as**:
**Honesty.**

**Hard work.**

**Respect for others.**

**Cooperation.**

**Compassion.**

**Forgiveness.**

**4. Equip students with knowledge of care for the environment, outdoor education through the orienteering and adventure components, simple outdoor cooking, demonstrate some form of**

**entrepreneurship through the designed activities.**

**You should possess the respective qualifications in international, regional or local associations of your respective activities.**
