This role is vital for LOVE, NILS’ ability to deliver on its mission of raising awareness and support, working closely with the Program Director & Program Manager this role will be responsible for engaging key stakeholders and partners in the ecosystem of childhood cancer to support LOVE, NILS mission and to increase impact.
LOVE, NILS is a Singapore-registered IPC charity. Our mission is to provide support to children with cancer and their caregivers to enable them to thrive. LOVE, NILS partners with schools, individuals, corporates, and other organisations to build awareness and fundraising opportunities to deliver our programs supporting children with cancer and their families. LOVE, NILS has grown to operate six support programs in two hospitals and is engaged actively local and international schools and other organisations in the community.
The Community Outreach & Volunteer Manager will strengthen community outreach by identifying opportunities to collaborate and promote LOVE, NILS volunteer activities and events. The Manager will lead and deliver on LOVE, NILS engagement targets, and oversee the management of volunteers and schools and community partners to support program and fundraising activities. The Manager will grow a community of engaged audiences and deepen relationships with strategic stakeholders in order to promote LOVE, NILS and strengthen the positive impact on the lives of children with cancer and their caregivers.
**Developing communities to support LOVE, NILS mission**
- Identify and cultivate opportunities for volunteer and community partnerships that align with LOVE, NILS strategy.
- Strengthen LOVE, NILS impact with partners that have local networks and expertise and engage with other social service sector agencies
- Serve as an Ambassador for LOVE, NILS, promoting and increasing awareness to the community by participating actively in initiatives to promote the volunteer program; e.g. recruitment, training, fundraising activities.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of volunteer partnerships, and develop risk mitigation measures for volunteer programs.
**Volunteer Management**
- Work collaboratively to uphold volunteer policies, refine processes, and manage volunteer resources to promote a positive volunteer experience.
- Develop and support the implementation of relevant training programs to enhance volunteer capabilities and improve volunteer engagement and retention.
- Foster strong relationships with existing and new volunteers with effective management strategies.
- Effectively administer volunteer management systems and processes by maintaining the Volunteer Management Database in accordance with the Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA) of Singapore.
- Manage school programs by engaging with the school groups, guiding their volunteer process, advising on activities and supervising engagement with beneficiaries.
- Grow the school program to include additional local and international schools
- Ensure that the programs and activities meet the performance indicators of LOVE, NILS and operating guidelines issued by MOH or MSF.
**Communication**
- Effectively handle internal and external communications, including volunteer outreach, stakeholder communication, and cross-departmental collaboration
- Establish and cultivate relationships with stakeholders by coordinating meetings regularly.
**Working together Seamlessly**
- Work with the Program Director to refine and implement the recruitment strategy for volunteers and the reactivation strategy for passive volunteers.
- Collaborate with Program Director and Program Manager to ensure effective promotion of school initiative opportunities to beneficiaries
- Work with the Program Director to ensure that all volunteers are 100% compliant with pre-screening requirements before attending an event or delivery of a program.
- Collaborate with Marketing Department to create collateral and promotional materials.
- Collaborate with Fundraising Department and CEO on fundraising efforts driven by school groups or corporate partners and CSR opportunities.
- Work in collaboration with the Fundraising and Marketing departments to identify opportunities for collaboration and help drive engagement with key stakeholders.
**Reports**
- Manage volunteer program expenditures; work with the Programs Director to ensure budget is not exceeded.
- Produce monthly and quarterly reports for Program Director and input to the board report.
- Other duties in support of Program Director, as needed
**Skills and Competencies**:
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills when working with groups and individuals.
- Strong organisational skills including planning, delegating, program development and task facilitation.
- Ability to work well with a diverse group of stakeholders from the public and private sectors.
