**JOB DUTIES**:

- Define overall backend architecture for new systems and software products based on product requirements.
- Responsible for systems functional backend development optimised in terms of performance, responsiveness, security, reliability and feasibility.
- Lead system design and improve system stability with best practices such as agile development and test-driven development.
- Design workflow and system components and make technical decision on the framework and technology used for backend server architecture.
- Collaborate with the Product team, Creative team and frontend engineers to develop and implement backend architecture and infrastructure for software products across multiple platforms or consoles.
- Develop, test, maintain, deploy and optimize backend services.
- Contribute to the development of new features for revolutionary products.
- Participate in the project discussion of technical implementation, codes review and backend architecture optimization.
- Brainstorm and recommend the best backend architecture, methodology, languages used, coding structure, deployment protocols and debugging for new software products.
- Ensure the systems are adhering to engineering excellence which includes code maintainability, quality, monitoring, operational excellence, and documentation.
- Provide on-going system maintenance and enhancements according to client’s request.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to junior team members. Stay up-to-date with new technology trends, languages and techniques.

**JOB REQUIREMENTS**:

- Bachelor’s Degree of Computing, Software Engineering, IT or related field.
- Over 5 years of related work experience of backend development, preferably in fast-paced IT industry.
- Solid understanding of full system development lifecycle, system architecture and strong in writing performant server-side codes for large scale distributed systems.
- Polyglot development experience with multiple backend platforms and languages.
- Proficient with a variety of SQL and NoSQL database technologies such as Postgres, MongoDB, DynamoDB, MySQL, Microsoft SQL Server, or Redis etc.
- Experience in spanning multiple cloud services projects with at least one of GCP, AWS, or Azure etc.
- Exceptional conceptual, logical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
- Open and quick to learn new technologies and programming languages.
- Strong time management, ability to meet tight deadlines and successfully juggle multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong communication skills in presenting visions or ideas to both internal and external stakeholders.
