**What the role is**
- The Home Team Science and Technology Agency (HTX) is a statutory board under the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) which aims to pioneer innovation solutions and develop world class science and technology capabilities to transform and support the Home Team Departments (HTD) operations in maintaining order and enhancing security for Singapore.
As our Lead Engineer / Engineer working in Land Systems, you will be spear-heading the capability development on smart technologies for armaments systems. In addition, you will be leading and providing engineering and technical solutions to ensure that the armament systems developed by HTX are optimally designed, integrated and interoperable with new and existing platforms and Information Communication Technology (ICT) systems.
You are expected to explore new technical solutions, formulate support concepts and governance framework to develop innovative and cost effective solutions to ensure continued mission success for HTD operations. You are a technical expert who is also passionate to lead and bring armament systems capability development to new heights to augment HTD missions.
Reporting to the Head (Smart Weapon Control Systems), the job holder will exploit new capabilities and technologies to integrate them with armament systems to achieve high system performance while meeting safety requirements.

**What you will be working on**
- Conceptualize projects to enhance weapon systems including prototyping with incorporation of new technological capabilities.
- Develop system architectures and perform system evaluation to seamlessly integrate weapon systems with sensors and command & control systems.
- Formulate technical specifications, lead design reviews and project meetings with contractors and end users.
- Review test procedures and conduct Factory Acceptance, Installation, Checkout, Integration & Verification Testing activities for weapon systems.
- Perform software and system safety assessment of ammunition and weapons systems.
- Continuous upgrading and acquiring new technologies on armaments development.

**What we are looking for**
- Good honours degree in Mechanical, Electrical & Electronic or Systems Engineering preferably with background or experience working on armament systems or technologies.
- Preferably with relevant working experience in weapon systems integration, stabilisation systems, electro optical systems or wireless communications technologies.
- Knowledge in design of experiment or trial techniques, statistics and system performance verification methodologies will be advantageous.
- Possess strong project management skillset.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Take initiative at work to resolve ground issues.
