Sustainability Specialist/ Environment Auditor

The general task begins a project by evaluating customer current environmental impact and Greenmark gap. The individual needs to evaluate building or compound to fulfill the authority requirement as to meet GM 2021 requirements. The individual need to understand *various tools and statistical methods for quantifying a client's carbon footprint, energy use, water use, waste production and air quality (*Training provided). He/She may focus on a specific type of impact or attempt to create a comprehensive understanding of a client's impact on the environment and GM2021 gap.

**Proposing sustainable solutions**:
With the information collected, a sustainability Specialist can recommend the appropriate changes to minimize a company's environmental impact. They might generate reports and present the findings to company supporters to solicit the support and funding necessary for sustainability initiatives. For instance, a sustainability consultant might recommend a recycling program to reduce the company's waste. Another potential solution might be a strategy for reducing the use of limited resources like energy, water and oil.

**Overseeing operational changes**:
Once a company approves the recommended initiatives, a sustainability Specialist will oversee the operational changes to improve the chances of success. They might hire the appropriate personnel to implement changes or source high-quality equipment that's within the company's budget. Sustainability consultants also make strategic changes as necessary, train customers on new practices and ensure the Client's compliance with legal regulations.

**Collaborating with other departments**:
Sustainability Specialist collaborate with other departments to develop comprehensive initiatives to benefit not only the environment but also the company. They may consult with accounting to ensure they remain within the company's budget and prioritize cost-effective solutions. They might also collaborate with marketing, human resources and public relations to create cohesive messaging about sustainability campaign

**Communicating with customers**:
A sustainability Specialist also need communicate with client or client's customers. They might develop effective messaging and oversee marketing campaigns to facilitate acceptance and attract customers who prioritize the environment's well-being. For instance, consider a restaurant that replaces plastic straws with paper straws to reduce its environmental impact. A sustainability consultant might create a marketing campaign to educate customers about the benefits of the change.

Assist the PM in **developing an ES programme **that complies with the ES regime
- Monitor the implementation of the ES programme
- Flag up lapses to the PM for rectification
- Review effectiveness of the ES programme and make recommendations to the PM
- Keep records of works/measures with respect to the ES programme
- Attend to NEA during inspections, including furnishing any requested information
- Undergo training, as required by NEA

Monitor and implement ESP programmme

The ES regime will require the specified premises to develop and implement an ES programme which includes, but is not limited to, the following baseline standards developed by the Technical Committee:

- Implement **minimum routine cleaning and disinfection frequencies **, with attention paid to high-risk areas (e.g. high-touch surfaces used by vulnerable persons, and areas with high risk of contamination are to be cleaned more frequently);
- Implement **minimum six-monthly thorough periodic cleaning and disinfection **of the specified premises, including areas not easily accessible and not covered by routine cleaning (e.g. out-of-reach window panels, ceiling and wall fans);
- Carry out **yearly (mínimally) maintenance of surfaces or fixtures **, which includes the associated stipulated routine cleaning frequency (where relevant);
- Inspect mínimally 25 **% of the areas in the premises weekly **and after periodic cleaning and disinfection works;
- Put in place a **cleaning and disinfection protocol **to respond to incidents involving bodily discharge;
- Ensure that **workers are trained and provided with the necessary equipment and cleaning agents **to carry out effective cleaning and disinfection;
- Achieve desired **outcome-based cleanliness indicators **after the completion of cleaning operations; and
- Implement a **pest management plan, inclusive of a comprehensive pest management survey **to be conducted mínimally once every 6 months to review the effectiveness of the pest management plan.
