We are currently looking for a **Country Manager - Singapore**. This role is ideal for a driven, well-structured, and strategic leader who is passionate about business growth and the development of high-performing teams. **What will you be doing?**
As a **Country Manager - Singapore,**you will be in charge of developing and executing strategic and tactical plans to drive business growth. You will also be responsible for the day-to-day management decisions, with a strong focus on overseeing performance to ensure that projects are successfully completed to the full satisfaction of clients, invoices are paid promptly, and all deliverables comply with contracts, client’s instructions, procedures and company policies.
Key responsibilities include:
- Own and lead the strategic planning for Singapore, ensuring successful execution with positive outcomes.
- Stay ahead of industry trends and market dynamics, proactively identifying new opportunities for expansion
- Provide motivational leadership to all operational/technical and administrative teams fostering a results-driven environment.
- Offer training, mentoring, and support to team members to enhance their skills, performance and development.
- Maximize utilization on chargeable projects to meet objectives and targets.
- Ensure efficient management and organization of resources across the business.
- Develop, own, and manage annual budgets, ensuring financial control is maintained and targets are consistently met.
- Minimize UBR and AR days through timely timesheet submissions, invoicing, and proactive payment follow-ups.
- Oversee operational costs to maximize profitability and provide regular reports to the management.
- Implement and continuously improve work processes to deliver excellent customer service.
- Drive the development of new business opportunities and actively participate in the preparation of technical and commercial proposals, leading contract reviews and approvals
- Push boundaries to identify new growth areas collaborating closely with all Business Line Managers and promote business expansion in Singapore.
- Encourage and take an active part in business development initiatives through regular client visits and engagement in networking opportunities.
- Represent the company at social and industry events to strengthen brand visibility and service awareness.
- Ensure high quality standards in operations and deliverables.
- Comply with internal control systems, policies, and legal requirements, setting an example to ensure all employees adhere to company standards and QHSE policies.
- Promote intercompany and multi segment collaboration to enhance regional/ global business performance.
- Have an oversight of all ongoing projects and upcoming works in Singapore.
- Assist with the day-to-day management of key projects when required, ensuring timelines and budgets are met.
- Provide high-end consultancy services in marine and offshore related areas.
- Conduct attendances worldwide for project meetings as well as marine operations and vessel inspections when required.
- Ensure that 70% of the time is allocated to both BD and billable projects combined per annum.
- Undertake any other job-related duties as assigned.
**What are we looking for?**
To be successful in this role, you should be highly driven and enthusiastic, with a willingness to roll up your sleeves and actively contribute to the delivery of projects while focusing on the growth of the business. You possess excellent communication and relationship-building skills, along with a genuine interest in networking and business development. You should also have strong critical thinking abilities and be confident in making data-driven decisions. In addition you:
- Possess a Master Mariner (STCW II/2), Chief Engineer (STCW III/2), Naval Architect / Structural Engineer / Civil Engineer or other relevant technical and/or business degree with offshore and marine related experience and/or training.
- Min 8-10 years of professional experience within a relevant field.
- Hands-on experience in maritime and offshore works is desired.
- Experience in successfully executing mid-to-large scale business and project plans
- Fully conversant with marine and engineering consultancy in the offshore oil and gas markets.
