The Lazada Business Risk team is responsible for protecting the eCommerce activities of over 560 million consumers, more than 155,000 sellers, and the 3,000 brands on Lazada’s growing ecosystem. As part of the regional business risk leadership, you will have access to our full suite of big data analytical tools to develop and implement strategies, technology solutions, and processes to minimize the risks associated with content and assortment. You’ll also have an opportunity to work with local Business Risk teams to ensure effective and efficient operations.

The role will report to the Head of Assortment Governance and assist him/her in the development of assortment related strategy and operations.

Key tasks and responsibilities
1. Define the policies for assortment, working closely with local Business Risk teams, and other stakeholders such as Legal and Platform Governance.
2. Define the technology and operations strategy to manage assortment risks - i.e. the risks of prohibited and controlled goods being listed on the platform by merchants
Technology strategy:

- Provide technology-driven solutions (core risk engine and algorithms) to support local Business Risk teams in managing assortment risk.
- Work with technology counterparts to implement new features or enhancements

Compliance operations strategy:

- Define operational metrics and indicators to monitor various aspects of operational effectiveness and efficiency
- Develop data dashboards for performance monitoring
- Assist in data requirements for weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual operations review to monitor and track country and regional compliance operations performance
- Monitor performance of outsourced resources (BPOs) as part of QA process

3. Develop and refine new and existing SOPs for managing assortment risks, together with local teams.
4. Work closely with local Business Risk teams and other stakeholders including Legal and Platform Governance to address regulatory issues and incidents.
5. Assist in the development of internal training and certification programmes to ensure that all local Business Risk teams are equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge.
6. Support new business initiatives in risk assessment, and provide necessary risk mitigation solutions.
7. Collaborate with stakeholders including Legal, Logistics, and Cross-border Platform Governance to manage cross-border related prohibited and controlled risks.

**Job Requirements**

1. Minimum Degree in engineering/finance/economics/IT with around 10 - 15 years of relevant experience in “first line” risk management, with specific experience in managing content related risk (“Trust & Safety”)

2. Experience in managing regulatory risks

3. Strong communication and stakeholder alignment experience

4. Experience and background working in digital, e-commerce, or technology is preferred
