Global Legal plays an important role in protecting the Group’s reputation by helping to future-proof the organisation through robust legal risk and issue advisory. Responsible for providing comprehensive legal advice to senior management and all global businesses and functions, the team offers a diverse range of legal skills, jurisdictional experience and practice specialisms across all countries and territories in which our businesses operate.

We are currently seeking a high calibre professional to join our team as a **Senior Legal Counsel.**

**Principal Responsibilities**
- Assist and support the Private Banking business in its ambitious ASEAN wealth strategy and transformational journey in this strategic growth market
- Manage, support and drive positive change within the private bank on all key legal matters
- Deliver commercially pragmatic legal advice and practical legal support in a cost-effective manner
- Deliver fair outcomes for our customers and ensure own conduct maintains the orderly and transparent operation of financial markets
- Draft, review and negotiate relevant contracts and related transaction documentation (including bespoke credit documentation, investment product documentation, service agreements for new strategic launches)
- Work within the private bank legal team in Singapore as well as with the GPB Hong Kong legal team and support private bank regionally where required
- Collaborate effectively with wider SG WPB Legal team and other legal teams in Singapore, ASP and Global on cross team/cross business initiatives
Requirements
- Qualified Lawyer with 5-7 years' experience (in private banking or with credit and lending experience)
- Excellent legal technical skills
- Ability to operate in dynamic and fluid situations
- Ability to handle a diverse range of issues, deal with new or unexpected situations and work under pressure
- Lateral thinking/problem solving in an open and connected manner
- Strong team player
- Collaborative, adaptable, open to innovation and new ideas/ ways of working
- Strong communication (written and verbal) and inter-personal skills
