**Senior Legal Counsel**

An established European bank seeks a Senior Legal Counsel to join its Legal team based in its regional office in Singapore to support its branches in Singapore and Hong Kong.

**What will you be doing?**
- Supervise the credit documentation review function and the transactional legal support function for the Bank’s lending business.
- Assist in identifying and managing legal risks for all aspects of the Bank’s business and operations in Asia Pacific.
- Select and instruct external counsel; supervise their provision of legal services; and ensure acceptability of all legal deliverables.
- Control conduct of legal proceedings involving the Bank.
- Provide or organise legal training to Bank staff
- Assist in the implementation/review of policies and procedures of the Legal department.
- Supervise the Bank’s corporate secretarial filings in Asia Pacific.
- Deputize for the Head of Legal.

**What are we looking for?**
- A Commonwealth-qualified lawyer between 10 - 15 years PQE. A Singapore-qualified lawyer is preferred.
- Familiarity with loan documentation (for both bilateral and syndicated loans) and legal issues related to financing transactions.
- Prior work experience as in-house legal counsel with a bank.
- Strong written and spoken English communication skills.
- A team player; meticulous; good interpersonal and stakeholder management skills; resourceful; and a self-starter.
- A person with a growth mindset; open to learning new things/skills; who is comfortable to say “I do not have the answer but I will find out”.

**Reporting Line**
- This role reports to the Head of Legal.
