As part of our business active development and expansion plan, we have an immediate vacancy for the role of Senior Technical Support Engineer.
BELFOR is in the disaster recovery and decontamination business, we have solid footprint across Singapore islandwide and the Asia countries. Being established and professional, our specialists are champion in the field. Their sound advice and plan are critical towards loss mitigation and resumption of business after event(s) of disaster.
The Technical Support Engineer will be required to support technical initiatives and activities across the region. He is responsible for creating technical bulletins; safety bulletins; technical process documents; conduct test on new equipment used in the field; design new solutions to be used in the field; help to coordinate approvals if required; introduce best practice technical notes that will be shared and decimated across the region.
**Key Job Responsibilities
1. Technical Writing
Supporting the Technical Director with authoring and publishing technical papers in the region including
- Safety Bulletins
- Technical Bulletins
- Technical Procedures and Guidelines
2. Equipment & Solutions Evaluation and Certification.
- Evaluate Equipment we intend to use in the region (fit for purpose)
- Coordinate correct Country approvals for the equipment if needed
- Support design changes to the equipment if required for use in local Asia Pacific markets
- Look for suppliers of various equipment that may be needed in the region including custom made solution providers
- Co-ordinate with marketing to brand the equipment / solutions when needed
- Create technical user support documents for proper use and maintenance of the equipment
- Coordination manufacturing of equipment /solutions (e.g. Site Kit) when needed. Quality check of equipment/production
- Oversee the construction of proprietary equipment (site kits, etc)
- Do improvements and modernization of proprietary equipment
- Liaise with entities in Asia to identify particular needs of specific equipment, either sourced out of the market or new design
**Job Requirements**
- Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
- Diploma /Technical Qualifications or equivalent
- At least ten (10) years of engineering experience in a technical knowledge development environment
- Excellent problem-solving skills
- Excellent verbal and written /communication skills
- Must be hands-on, practical and willing to try out new things (technical aspects)
- Initiatives, self-motivated and always desire for improvement
- Expected to travel within the region
