Project Engineer

INDUSTRIAL FIRE ASIA PACIFIC PTE. LTD. is seeking a _Project Engineer _for its _POG Team in IFPS division _in _Singapore _. Here at _IFPS division _, we are the world’s largest manufacturer of Fire & Gas products. Our mission is to provide solutions that protect people and property from the effects of fire and gas leak and its related hazards. For more than 60 years major Oil & Gas companies have relied on **Autronica (AFS)**and **Det-Tronics (DET)**to deliver outstanding fire alarm system and Flame & Gas detection products.

This position reports directly to the Technical Manager of Singapore, collaborating with the full spectrum of POG team leaders, including product management, operations, finance, engineering, and marketing.

**Specific responsibilities for this position include**:

- Perform technical tasks in projects (both local and oversea) for AFS and DET projects.
- Participate in project meetings
- Design the system, such as layout, network, ensure correct powering and redundancy, verify space for all equipment, according to AFS and DEC basic design standards.
- Responsible for project documentation.
- Report eventual problems with products and project execution to Technical Manager.
- Contribute to continuous improvement in the project and report possibilities to Technical Manager.
- Cooperation and follow-up of vendors and sub-contractors.
- Act as site lead when allocated / nominated by Technical Manager.
- Prepare for and participate in SAT (Site Acceptance Test) and FAT (Factory Acceptance Test) as allocated by Technical Manager.
- Technical contact point with other delivery groups in projects when assigned as the responsible PM within the project
- Determination and ability to find good and accurate solutions.
- Ensure work is done according to project plan, procedures and checklists.
- Assist Technical Manager to prepare proposal for large EPC projects.
- Develop a close cooperation with RSM’s to support customers in technical issues.

**Required Experience**:

- Diploma / Degree in Engineering (Electrical / Electronics / Instrumentation)
- 3 to 5 years of experience as project engineer with excellent performance
- Practical hand-on approach to complex tasks.
- Experience and Knowledge of Fire and Gas products.
- Positive attitude, cope with challenges and finding solutions.
- Restrained personality, go-ahead spirit and target oriented.
- Be able to focus on the customer’s needs and expectations.
- Cooperative and good communication skills.
- Overall focus on quality.
- Accept travelling as required by project.
- Responsible for taking over from Sales & Marketing department in the kick-off process, and the contract follow-up on project hardware matters.
- Be a contact point between local project teams, headquarters and the customers for the project matters.
- Continuously improve the products and services rendered to the customers and improve the working procedures and routines in close cooperation with headquarters and local management.
- Actively contribute to a good working environment and cooperation with all different departments of AFS/DEC, customers and suppliers.

- Self-motivated team player, able to work under own initiative as well as in a multi-cultural team spanning numerous time zones and cultures.
- High level of written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrates a high level of planning & organization skills on a daily basis.
