**DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**:
**Overview**
The Energy Sector Coverage team provides sector coverage and financial solutions in the form of financing, advisory and services/ products to leading players in the energy sector, primarily from its regional hubs in Amsterdam, New York, and Singapore. The Energy Sector Coverage team covers the sub-sectors of Renewables & Power, Utilities and Oil & Gas all of which have significant overlap with ING’s New Energy Technology (NET - CCUS, energy storage/batteries and hydrogen) initiatives. Each sub-sector has a regional lead, the Lead for Oil & Gas will also be the lead for NET in the region and additionally lead the Hydrogen initiative within NET.**:
**Responsibilities**
- This is largely a client facing role with overall responsibility for the Oil & Gas relationships in the region. This includes direct management of a limited number of clients as well as supporting the efforts of the relevant account managers, providing strategic sector input to client dialogues and providing sector updates (including to management and the risk approval chain).
- In support of the Hydrogen initiative, being a far less mature business a regional strategy needs to be developed with the incumbent being responsible for leading the associated marketing effort including building client relationships, industry and advisor/ consultant contacts, co-ordinating with other NET team members within the Bank, developing pitch books and speaking at public events/ conferences.
- Maintain strong knowledge of industry trends, banking products, relevant regulations in order to understand the business of the Bank's clients and energy transition developments. Responsible for maintaining assigned client relationships.
- Lead the origination of financing (loans, financial markets, transaction services, debt capital markets) and/or project advisory/ M&A mandates across Asia Pacific, in the Oil & Gas and Hydrogen sectors. This includes oversight of the preparation of pitch books and/or financing term sheets.
- Supervise general deal execution including due diligence activities and liaise with various internal (eg the risk approval chain) and external stakeholders as necessary; guide deal teams, junior staff in respect of deal execution as necessary.
- For project advisory mandates, lead the execution of the mandate and support the deal team as required.
- Ensure compliance with Bank’s policies/procedures and regulatory requirements, including Know
- Your-Client requirements.

**Person Specifications**

**To be considered for this role, the applicant would ideally possess the following pre-requisites**:

- Minimum of degree holder preferably in Economics / Mathematics / Sciences / Finance / Accounting / Engineering
- Minimum of 10-15 years of relevant project finance / investment banking / structured finance / accounting / energy industry experience.
- Self-starter able to work independently and to multi-task. Confident to lead senior dialogues with clients as well as internal stakeholders and to speak in public/ at conferences
- Motivated, a commitment to excellence and having a “can do” attitude.
- Team player who has the ability to build effective working relationships with clients and colleagues.
