**Purpose of the role**

The Media Strategist, APAC is a senior strategic and creative client-facing position supporting with existing client retention and upsell as well as new business initiatives and building out the agency’s ability to respond to evolving market needs. This role is focused on delivering exceptional media results to our clients, keeping a finger on the pulse on emerging stories in the region and selling our media relations proposition to clients and prospects. It also plays a key role in supporting and cascading global clients, ensuring results are met on a global scale.

**Key responsibilities and tasks**
- New Business _
- Works with office and function heads in responding to media relations briefs, ensuring timely delivery of compelling and strategic media proposals to prospects
- Plays an active role in pitching and meeting with prospects to answer questions related to regional media strategy and selling our proposition
- Stay on top of latest industry trends to develop and implement new practices to drive results and grow business revenues
- Maintains a map of target businesses and organisations, making use of this knowledge to create targeted campaigns and maximise the impact of approaches
- Integrates media strategy in every relevant business proposal across APAC. Providing recommendations on media strategy and approach with strong focus on earned media
- Media Relations _
- Builds strong media relationships in the region, cascading media opportunities between markets
- Maintains strong connections with tier 1 media - with a particular focus on technology, finance and business editors, as well as key vertical media where needed
- Proactively shares suggestions with account teams on media opportunities and flags stories of interest
- Innovates and commercialises new media services for TEAM LEWIS. Keeps up to date with emerging media tools and identifies services TEAM LEWIS should develop to help clients and colleagues stay ahead of the news agenda.
- Works with the media squad in each office in APAC to ensure results-driven campaigns are top of mind.
- Drives training for the teams to upskill on core media relations capabilities such as client and causes call downs, media targeting, how and when stories are pitched and managing client expectations
- Client Growth _
- Supports office and function heads to drive account growth through upsells and cascades to other markets / regions
- Keeps a close watch over our international client list and actively taps into the TEAM LEWIS network to bring these clients to the region
- Drives a proactive approach to upselling services/projects and increasing retainer budgets
- Works closely with local teams to ensure impactful solutions are delivered to clients
- Team working and development _
- Uses social media to recognise industry trends and proactively promotes new tools, solutions and processes to continuously evolve and optimise selling opportunities for TEAM LEWIS services
- Builds out teams to support the delivery of new or expanded services to maintain the competitiveness of the agency and place us ahead of peers
- Nurtures and preserves the TEAM LEWIS culture, acting as a senior representative of the agency to drive profitability, growth and innovation
- General _
- Works in conjunction with the global marketing team to promote TEAM LEWIS as a leading provider of integrated communications services
- Takes a proactive role in promoting the TEAM LEWIS brand, its identity, values and work
- Supports the People team by promoting, both internally and externally, opportunities at TEAM LEWIS across social media and via the referral scheme
- Maintains a detailed and up-to-date knowledge of industry (competitors’ and clients’) activities
- Overall, acts as a guardian of best practice in the sphere of media relations

**About you**
- Strong strategic consultancy skills
- Well versed in connecting the right people, establishing network and identifying media opportunities
- Demonstrable success in expanding media business opportunities
- Able to spot and respond to emerging trends in the industry, quickly identifying what we need to deliver these in-house and what to outsource
- Enthusiastic, energetic and influential; a strong people-person with the skills and aptitude to sell the agency
