**Position**
We are looking for a freelancer, based in Singapore, to support the work of the Government Advisory team, specifically for media monitoring shift work. Our work is fast-paced and global in scope. We seek a highly motivated individual, either at graduate level or wishing to launch their career in international affairs, media relations and digital communications.
You should be a strong analytical thinker and able to work both independently and as part of a team. Agency and freelancing experiences are not required but will be valued.
**Responsibilities will include**:
- Monitoring issues in the international media, social media, and politics, and carefully identifying relevant stories under time constraints.
- Drafting a media monitoring brief in English of news published in the media over the past 24 hours.
- Coordinating and communicating with other freelancers on a monthly basis to guarantee all weekend shifts are covered.
**Requirements**:
**You must**:
- Have a strong understanding of broader international media and political landscapes, with a genuine interest in the news agenda, ideally including knowledge of the MENA region.
- Be confident and able to conduct comprehensive analysis of information to tight deadlines while ensuring accuracy and relevance.
- Have strong writing abilities in English, including but not limited to an ability to be concise in summarising media articles.
- Have exceptional attention to detail, even in a high-pressure environment.
- Feel comfortable with a wide range of digital tools and channels, particularly Twitter.
- Be organised, able to take direction and follow guidance from others, manage your own workload, and flag any upcoming schedule issues in advance.
- Communicate confidently with other freelancers.
- Be logical, creative and flexible in your approach to solving problems, with an enthusiastic ‘can-do’ attitude.
**Desirable**:
- Knowledge of global politics, particularly in the MENA region
- Prior freelancing or agency experience

Remuneration for this position will be very competitive and indexed hourly.
