Materials & Vendor Administrator

Development of detailed schedules for equipment and materials with respect to schedule needs versus resource capabilities
- Plans and executes control and management of all materials and equipment in support of project operations within material management plans, policies, and procedures.
- Review's material status reports and provide detailed material delivery updates to Project Management.
- Makes recommendations to improve, raise awareness, be knowledgeable of and understand the current schedule on all equipment and materials.
- Advises Project Management of potential material shortages that may affect project costs or schedules and works with project team and contractors to find mitigating solutions.
- Supports contractor with all materials related activities, including material management processes and procedures.
- Provides oversight for all contractors supplied materials ensuring delivery ETA’s meet project schedule
- Ensure all material preservation requirements are implemented and carried out as per manufacturer’s instructions
- Supports Project Management in the identification and assessment of risks with respect to supply of equipment and materials.
- Manages & expedites material deliveries from both the Expediting & Logistics functions to ensure no hold ups in material deliveries.
- Be proactive and understand where all materials and equipment are located & ensure accurate information is always on hand
- Issue weekly/monthly reports of module material management activities for the project showing overall status and identifying significant delivery slippages against delivery schedule.
- Reviews receiving and shipping notices in collaboration with the materials coordinator and reports schedule inadequacies.
- Provide leadership and guidance to the materials coordinator and support in their daily activities
Your knowledge/skills, education, and experience:
Qualification/ Certification:
- Post-secondary diploma or degree with a concentration in supply chain preferred or equivalent experience in a similar position
- Demonstrated experience working in an oil and gas company in a materials/lead or management role.
Skills Requirement:
- Excellent organization and planning skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely
- Excellent reporting skills with regards to material & equipment status
- Proficient in the use of ERP systems, Oracle Materials Software preferrable
- Skilled in the use of Excel and various other Microsoft programs.
- Ability to develop positive relationships with a diverse range of disciplines.
- Attention to detail
Communication:
- Good English, written and verbal
- Spoken and written Chinese an advantage
Core Competencies:
- Strong knowledge and understanding of material management processes & techniques
- Experience in complex material management environments
- Previous experience in managing/supervising staff
- Strong work ethic, ability to prioritize competing tasks.
- Ability to support and influence project team to achieve targets and goals
- Ability to work in a challenging and demanding environment
- Ability to coordinate activities with other departments and team members
- Maintain the highest of HSE standards as per company policies and procedures
