[What the role is]

The National Parks Board (NParks) engages with regional and international bodies to deal with forest-related climate change issues. NParks also engages with these bodies to help set the biodiversity policy agenda and supports the implementation at the national level. We are seeking to strengthen our capacity in the area of carbon accounting and reporting, policy analysis, advocacy and implementation of key environmental and biodiversity policy issues.

**[What you will be working on]**

The successful applicant is expected to:

- Assess, develop and implement relevant plans and policies on climate change and forest related issues for NParks and Singapore
- Oversee and provide the technical support on climate change and forest related work/ portfolios at the regional and global levels, such as ASEAN, UNFCCC and FAO
- Ensure the data to determine greenhouse gas emissions from Singapore’s land use and vegetation is accurate
- Coordinate NParks inputs to inter-agency positions on climate change and forest related issues
- Provide policy support to the work of the International Biodiversity Conservation Division

**[What we are looking for]**
- Masters in environment, biology, conservation, sustainable development, or related discipline is preferred
- With more than 8 years of relevant working experience in policy and/or technical related work relevant to broadly biodiversity and/or climate change related issues
- Preferably with experience managing and supervising a high performing team
- Strong written and oral communications are important traits
- Experience and soft skills in negotiations
- Prepared for overseas travel if required during the course of work
