The Deputy Director will be responsible for leading the execution of strategic decisions of the NTU Art & Heritage Museum (NTU Museum/ NTUM) to support NTU’s excellence and societal impact as an interdisciplinary global university. Supporting the Director and the NTU Museum Advisory Committee, the Deputy Director shall oversee and lead the NTUM team to strive for world class visual arts programming that seeks to educate and delight the community of NTU through strategic interdisciplinary partnerships, visual art exhibitions and art collection development. The Deputy Director will work closely with the Director to showcase aesthetic experiences made from a variety of technologies that promotes ‘learning beyond grades’ and celebrates the diversity of our community.

**Responsibilities**:

- Manage and execute the vision and strategic direction, to grow the NTU Museum into a world-class art and heritage institution.
- Manage and execute directions and strategies for Collection Development and Conservation; Audience Engagement; Research and publications, Exhibitions and Access; and Stakeholders Engagement.
- Manage corporate and financial governance to accomplish good stewardship of finances and utilisation of the budgets, in full compliance with NTU’s procurement policies.
- Motivate and nurture a Museum team’s professional capabilities for excellence and success.

**Qualifications and Relevant Experience**:

- Master’s in Fine Art or Master of Arts in Museum Studies, or Humanities or Social Sciences or equivalent
- At least 15 years of relevant experience in a reputable museum or similar institutions, including 10 years or more experience in a senior management position.
- Proven track record of ability in strategic development, planning and policy work in a museum institution, and excellent art and heritage asset management skill, and financial budgeting.
- Knowledge of international museum standards and practices, development, current and emerging trends, and professional code of ethics and practices.
- Excellent understanding of the local art and arts heritage scene, and strong connection with local and international industry leaders.
- Excellent stakeholder and donor engagement, experience in securing loans of significant collection, solicit donations for collections, and sponsorships for the University’s art and heritage collection and programmes.
- Deep knowledge and practical experience in museum administration, strategic planning and operations, collections development and management, exhibition planning, public art commissions, curation, outreach and programming, conservation of collections, and digital preservation.
- Expertise in seeking and identifying opportunities and avenues for external public art commissions, support from the local and international art scenes, and good professional connections with the national and international institutions.
- Self
- starter, motivated and a strategic leader, who is dynamic, creative and flexible.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication and writing skill, build and cultivate long-term professional relationships with internal and external stakeholders, such as artists, private collectors, donors and sponsors.
- Experience in performing secretariat duties, presenting and submitting management reports.
