Youth Leadership and Development Intern

Singapore METROPOLITAN YOUNG MEN'S CHRISTIAN ASSOCIATION OF SINGAPORE Full time

This position is responsible for planning and executing youth development programmes and initiatives. This includes pushing forth the youth empowerment movement of the organization. You will work closely with stakeholders such as working professionals, schools and mentoring institutions. By being part of this team, you will be growing in self-awareness, self-management, and gain great understanding of the social service landscape. You will also impact the community by growing alongside youths thriving in this post pandemic society.

**Roles & Responsibilities**

1) Be mentored by staff to support in the planning, execution, and evaluation of youth engagement, equipping, and empowerment programmes pertaining to current youth trends and needs.

2) Assist in youth mentoring, facilitation of leadership and development orientation and trainings, and liaison with partners for funding, regulatory, volunteerism, and outreach work

3) Support in admin work and data management

4) Shadow staff in local and/or overseas (global connections with YMCAs) meetings, workshops or seminars as required

**Requirements**:
1) Possess passion in mentoring and youth development in the social service industry

2) Takes initiative and is process driven

3) Good critical thinking, interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills

4) Experience in leadership, events management, and/or group facilitation

5) Possess research background (optional but good to have)
