**Facilitator Duties**

Some of you are new and still unsure of your duties during the HPB community workout sessions, so please refer to the following as guidelines:
1. Arrival

You are to be clad in proper exercise attire (with covered shoes). Please arrive 20 minutes before the stipulated session start time. This is to ensure there is sufficient time for the following:
a. Ensuring the Trainer or the cover Trainer shows up.
- If Trainer is not seen 15-20 minutes before session start time, please give them a call to check on their whereabouts.
- If Trainer or their cover was uncontactable, please contact Exer-Fit staff immediately. Do not simply wait and hope the trainer will turn up before start of session unless they have informed you about it.

b. Site and AED checks
- HPB auditors will ask both Trainer and Facilitator whether they know the location of the nearest AED and whether it is in working order. The location can be seen using the OneMap app, or you can ask the Trainer (it will be documented in their Recce document received from Exer-Fit.)

Public access AEDs will either have a blinking green light or a green tick shown at a corner of the unit. Trainer is to inform POC if AED is not working.
- If the main exercise venue is occupied and the Trainer activates an HPB-approved alternate site, please discuss with the Trainer so that 1 person stays at the occupied main site to usher participants to the correct alternate site. You may make your way to the alternate site upon session start time.

2. Attendance-taking
- The session will go live in the EO app 30 minutes before session start time.
- Users with H365 app who have completed their health declaration and primary contact information will be able to book the session and scan the QR code on your EO app. They may not be able to see the session in H365 if the session is fully-booked or it is a private class (book using partner code provided by the POC).
- Users without smartphones can go to any CC to find a Healthier SG ambassador to create their H365 Lite account which will enable you to help them with their health declarations when scanning attendance.
- FormSG is to be used whenever you are not able to use EO app for any reason. Ensure total attendance of EO scanning + FormSG does not exceed maximum capacity of session (check with Trainer if unsure).
- DO NOT take any attendance once Trainer starts playing the GAQ recording.

3. After taking attendance

Your job is not over after taking attendance. Your duties include the following:

- Look out for participants who look unsteady on their feet or become unwell while participating in the exercises and provide assistance (give support, seat them down at nearby bench and stay with them, give water, etc.). If it is serious, please signal to Trainer for assistance when necessary.
- Look out for members of public who might disrupt the exercise session and advise them accordingly. Sometimes residents who are interested to join may approach you for advice on how to sign up, please advise them on using the H365 app and session bookings.
- Your attention should be on the participants. Please do not excessively use your mobile phone or chat with people while on duty.
- Occasionally check that the sound readings do not exceed 65 decibels. You may download decibel reading apps from your phone’s app store (DecibelX, etc.). If the volume is too loud, please report to the trainer at the end of the session so that they can make adjustments accordingly.

4. Can I participate in the workout?

You may NOT be an active participant in the session you are currently doing facilitator work at. This will take your attention away from participants or members of public as you are focusing on the Trainer's movements.

5. Your approach towards participants / members of public

The Exer-Fit philosophy is to be firm but kind.

You are representing Exer-Fit and HPB when dealing with discussions and matters pertaining HPB, the group exercise classes, and the staff (management, trainers, other facilitators, etc.). You should always be diplomatic and non-confrontational in your approach.

Please check to ensure you do not come across as being rude when turning away people. For example, when turning away latecomers, please explain to them nicely,

"We require participants to be on time because a general safety briefing and checks are to be done before class starts. This is to ensure you are well when you take part in the exercise.

If you are late you will miss the safety checks and this could disrupt the class if anything untoward were to happen to you."

Similarly for residents who approach you to complain about noise levels, please assure them that you will take their feedbacks into consideration and forward them to relevant parties.

Inform the Trainer (they will manage music levels and clapping/shouting) and Exer-Fit about such complaints, as sometimes it may escalate to involve other Government bodies.
