**Position title**:Contracts Officer

**Reports to**:Director of Operations and Projects, WWF-Singapore

**Location**:Singapore

**Mission of WWF Singapore**:
WWF Singapore is a Singapore-registered charity, founded by WWF International - the global conservation organisation. WWF Singapore amongst others, works with corporate partners in Singapore for best practices in natural resource management, engages in communications and outreach to raise awareness of critical environmental issues and collaborates with WWF offices in the region to raise funds and direct them to important conservation programmes. The WWF Singapore office also provides a hub for international staff of WWF and supports their operational functions. It also works with government, businesses, other NGOs and the local Singapore community to spearhead efforts to build expertise in managing natural resources and bio-diversity wisely.

**Profile**:
We are looking for a contracts professional with a sound understanding of contract law and good judgement on legal and operational risks and liabilities to safeguard our organisation's interests in the agreements, MOUs, and partnerships that we enter into.

The Contracts Officer will have experience drafting, reviewing, providing advice to staff and negotiating contractual terms with both local and international parties.

**Major Duties and Responsibilities**:
**Legal**
- Work with key stakeholders and counterparties to draft and review agreements, including licenses and partnerships.
- Maintain a database of signed agreements and track compliance of the agreed contractual terms within the organisation.
- Research and monitor potential legal risks arising from signed agreements and mitigate when necessary.
- Work with, and provide research to management team on legal issues, and in particular, on laws relating to charities, contract law, company law, intellectual property, personal data protection, and security.
- Help manage the relationship with external legal service providers
- Support the development and review of organisational policies and procedures and training materials from an ethics, governance and legal standpoint.
- Perform any other duties from time to time at the request of the Director of Operations and Projects.
- Provide guidance to project teams on contract approval process and provide support to ensure that contracts are executed in accordance with company procedure, and on a timely basis.

**Compliance**
- Support Compliance Monitoring and Management of signed agreements.

**Required Qualifications, Skills and Competencies**:

- Diploma in Legal Studies or equivalent/higher with 3-5 years’ experience as Paralegal, Legal Executive, or Contracts Officer. Relevant experience and/or knowledge relating to charities will be an added advantage.
- Good ability in managing multiple stakeholders in a complex dynamic matrix structure, and the ability to analyse complex legal issues.
- Demonstrate commercial mindset as well as the ability to appropriately manage and mitigate legal compliance risk.
- Adaptable, meticulous and able to work independently.
- Excellent written and spoken English. Strong verbal & written communication skills with a high ability to influence and negotiate in an effective way.

**Internal - **Work closely and collaboratively with colleagues and stakeholders.

**External - **Develop and maintain relationships within the WWF Network and relevant regulatory authorities and commissions in Singapore, as necessary.
