**Primary Purpose of the Position **_(How the role contributes to the organisation)_

Supporting the Corporate Counsel in Singapore by preparing, reviewing and negotiating contracts for the sale and purchase of petroleum products and crude. Managing all associated contract paperwork and ensuring compliance with terms and conditions of each individual trade. Supporting Head of Compliance in reviews of third party organisations.

**Critical Accountabilities & Outcomes**
- Identify contractual issues and opportunities to minimise Ampol legal and commercial risk. Provide support on reports, checks and reviews relating to Ampol trading operations, communicate issues and coordinate an appropriate resolution.
- Capture and manage agreed contracting positions in Ampol database.
- Provide litigation and dispute support to the Corporate Counsel, as required.
- Provide additional support to the Ampol Group Legal team, as required.
- Work with the Corporate Counsel and Trading teams to dentify, implement and monitor continuous improvement opportunities.
- Such other duties as may be reasonably required by the company from time to time

**Key stakeholders and relationships of the role**

The Contracts Officer will be responsible for ensuring that commercial terms and legal risk taken on by Ampol are within agreed bounds. The Contracts Officer will be a member of the team responsible for reviewing, negotiating,and drafting contracts for the purchase and sale of all crude and petroleum products for the Ampol Group.

**Scope of the Role**
- Routine contract preparation, review and negotiation within agreed parameters.
- Escalation of contract issues to Corporate Counsel - Singapore and other appropriate internal stakeholders.
- Escalation of counterparty issues in accordance with company guidelines and processes.
- Recording of agreed contracting positions and counterparty status in appropriate databases.
- All divisions are made within Delegation of Authority guidelines.

**Qualifications**
- Degree or Diploma in any field.

**Experience**
- 3 years’ experience working in the contracts department of a crude and/or petroleum products trading business.
- Experience working in an unstructured and fast moving environment.

**Knowledge & Skills**
- Clear understanding of contractual terms and conditions; Competency in basic financial analysis, numeracy and computer skills; Sound knowledge of the supply chain process; Some understanding of operations of petroleum trading and shipping.
- Understanding of Singapore corporate law and requirements is preferable.
