Senior Specialist, Subtitle Operations

Based in Singapore reporting to Subtitle Operations Manager, the Subtitle Operations Specialist role will support the team to ensure timely availability of quality subtitles through close collaboration with volunteer community, content partners and internal stakeholders.

About the Subtitle Operations Team:
The Subtitle Operations Team oversees the end-to-end operations of subtitling creation by volunteer translators, paid contractors, subtitling agencies. Viki has a wonderful community of volunteers who have been translating video contents and enabling our mission of bringing Asian content to the world.

Key Responsibilities:
- Project-manage subtitle delivery to meet Viki’s content launch schedule.- Develop and execute optimal subtitling strategies.- Manage video and scripts delivery for all localisation operations.- Resolve subtitle-related issues that impact viewing experience, e.g. out-of-sync subtitles, overlapping segments, short display time.- Prepare subtitle assets for syndication according to partners’ specifications.- Partner with all cross-functional teams for continual process improvements.- Handle ad-hoc tasks assigned by Content & Subtitle Operations.

Requirements:
- Minimum of three years of hands-on experience in subtitle-related operations within a TV or streaming platform environment.- Proven track record of managing TV and movie subtitling projects from kick-off to final launch, specifically for deadline-driven Asian simulcast content.- Comprehensive knowledge of various subtitle formats with the ability to edit, transform, and sync subtitles effectively with a subtitle editing software.- Ability to support operations on weekends and holidays on a rotational basis.
