**Job summary**:
The Manager Value Engineering, Component Risk and Distribution at NetApp is instrumental in the oversight of NetApp's product design and risk avoidance. In this role, the Manager ensures a strong relationship with a team of component engineers, program managers, and external partners to deliver optimal performance. The Manager will manage a team of component engineers and program mangers that works to ensure NetApp mitigates risk and drives and optimal total cost for our products.

**What you will do**:
The Manager will collaborate across the organization to drive activities with responsibilities including but not limited to:

- Set the strategy for the team on where services will be delivered from and the structure
- Be an expert on the Design for Value process and understand NetApp’s products to lead the team on conducting value analysis and value engineering studies
- Track and manage budget for qualification activities
- Understand the best practices on component risk management and enhance the BOM Bill of Material scorecard to evolve with new categories of risk.
- Guide the team through creation and maintenance of processes for robust PCN Product Change Notification triage when notifications are received
- Establish distribution sourcing strategy across relevant partners to drive long-term goals of technology development, COS (Continuity of Supply), cost, quality, social responsibility, and sustainability.
- Exceed NetApp's objectives of Total Cost of Ownership, Time to Market, Supply Chain Design and Performance, Technology and Innovation, Quality and Compliance.
- Create strategies and drive actions to mitigate component risk to avoid premiums and excess
- Provide creative and innovative solutions to maintain the highest level of quality and cost competitiveness.
- Create communication strategies to ensure clear understandings of prioritization between multiple companies.
- Review and guide the team on detailed assessments of risk and value engineering opportunities from Proof of Concept and series production products and services.
- Develop and nurture executive relationships with Engineering, Finance and other operations functions to ensure that NetApp's needs across Product Development, NPI, Supply Chain Planning, Fulfillment and Sourcing are accounted for in the teams deployment

**Skills & experience required**:

- Supply Chain Management, Procurement or Engineering equivalent technical degree. An advanced degree or MBA is preferred.
- 12 years related experience in operations working with Component suppliers, Engineering, Finance, and Contract manufacturing partners and distributors.
- Demonstrated track record of innovating and streamlining process across a global supply chain.
- Proven track record of advanced problem solving of complex technical and/or resource.
- Proficiency in English
