The Opportunity
As a Senior Employee Relations Consultant for APAC, your main responsibilities will be to provide guidance, support and recommendations for the resolution of critical and complex employee relations activities. You'll manage complex and sensitive cases, bring your ideas for improvement through your proactive work with the business and HRBPs, taking care of any collective or individual consultation. You will be required to build positive relationships and work closely with all levels of management, the Employee Experience Business Partners, Adobe Employment Legal Counsel, Internal Stakeholders and Centers of Excellence (COEs) with the goal to drive high employee engagement and support resolution.
What You'll Do- Assess and investigate grievances and policy violations and provide consultation on disciplinary actions and involuntary terminations.- Coach managers and employees on performance management.- Advice HRBPs and business on how to handle reorganisations and coach through those changes- Collaborate with Employment legal department, CoEs and HRBPs and provide general consultation on employee relations and employment law topics.- Participate in projects, regionally and internationally, as requested to scale as we grow and provide outstanding outcomes and experience for our internal customers.- Coach managers on employees' individual and sensitive issues, including mediation.- Advise and support Managers on employee severance and Settlement Agreements- Provide mediation or conflict resolution with Managers and/or employees- Provide general consultation on employment law topics- Support M&A projects- Great communication and coaching skills- Experience in all areas of Employee Relations in a fast paced and challenging environment-
- Ability to deal with difficult and ambiguous situations as well as initiating solutions- Wider other Employment law knowledge across other countries in Asia Pacific and Japan would be helpful
What you need to succeed- 10+ years of relevant experience working in an Employee Relations and/or HR Business Partner role- Experience in providing guidance in implementation of reorganisations, M&As, individual involuntary terminations, performance management and investigations- Experience in leading multiple, concurrent, high-priority employee relations activities with a focus on timely and consistent execution- Highly effective communication skills. Including effective listening, questioning skills, presentation, synthesis, and persuasion.- Ability to use own judgment to problem solve, make decisions and involve key individuals at the appropriate time.- Ability to work independently and be part of a team environment while developing strong professional relationships with peers, managers, executives and cross-functional teams- Outcome oriented: we take ownership and are pride to achieve successful results with high satisfaction from our partners and customer groups.- Combination of legal and business insight, compassion and practical lens for effective resolution of employee relations matters- Resilience and ethics- Constant focus on continuous learning and development- Additional language skills (Mandarin, Japanese or Korean) highly desired, but not required- Degree qualification in a relevant discipline or equivalent experience; legal background a plus
