**Position Overview:
Mamacitas, a vibrant Central American cuisine restaurant located at 11 Haji Lane, is seeking an enthusiastic and proactive Assistant Manager to join our team. The Assistant Manager will play a crucial role in assisting the restaurant manager in overseeing the daily operations, ensuring exceptional customer experiences, and contributing to the success of Mamacitas as a unique culinary destination.
**Responsibilities**:
**Operational Excellence**:
- Collaborate with the restaurant manager to ensure smooth daily operations, from opening to closing.
- Supervise and train front-of-house staff, including servers, bartenders, and hosts/hostesses, to deliver exceptional customer service.
- Assist in creating staff schedules, considering business needs and labor budgets.
- Oversee the reservation system, managing table assignments and optimizing seating arrangements.
- Monitor inventory levels of supplies, including beverages, cutlery, and other essentials, and place orders as needed.
- Assist in maintaining the restaurant's cleanliness and hygiene standards, adhering to food safety regulations.
**Customer Service and Guest Experience**:
- Foster a welcoming and friendly atmosphere, ensuring guests receive a memorable dining experience.
- Address customer inquiries, concerns, and feedback promptly and professionally.
- Monitor service quality, providing guidance and support to staff to enhance customer satisfaction.
- Collaborate with the kitchen team to ensure food is prepared and presented according to established standards.
**Team Leadership**:
- Support the restaurant manager in training and developing front-of-house staff, promoting teamwork and a positive work environment.
- Assist in conducting performance evaluations, providing constructive feedback, and identifying growth opportunities for staff.
- Lead by example, demonstrating exceptional service, professionalism, and an enthusiastic attitude.
**Financial Management**:
- Assist in managing financial aspects, including cash handling, billing, and reconciliation of sales.
- Monitor costs and expenses, working with the manager to achieve financial targets.
- Assist in implementing upselling strategies to enhance revenue and profitability.
**Marketing and Promotions**:
- Collaborate with the marketing team to execute promotional events, special menus, and other initiatives to attract customers.
- Utilize social media and other platforms to engage with customers and promote Mamacitas' offerings.
**Requirements**:
- Previous experience in a supervisory or assistant management role in the hospitality industry is preferred.
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a diverse team.
- Exceptional customer service orientation, with excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
- Organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of restaurant operations, including reservation systems, point-of-sale software, and food safety regulations.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Positive attitude, adaptability, and a passion for providing exceptional guest experiences.
