**What you’ll be doing **

The Senior Solution Engineer's primary role is to communicate the features, capabilities, and benefits of Tableau within an assigned market segment and geographic region. As part of the sales team, the Senior Solution Consultant works largely in a presales capacity, but is also expected to help existing customers learn about the products by designing and delivering regular training sessions. You are expected to help in a post‐sales capacity by helping people make breakthrough advances with analysis to ensure adoption of Tableau Software. The Senior Solution Engineer provides presales support contributing to the successful conversion of prospects to customers and engages customers to drive product adoption.

Some of the things you’ll be doing include
- Provide presales support for prospects including data review, product demonstrations and analytic problem solving
- Use Tableau’s products to quickly and expertly generate compelling, interactive visualizations using Tableau Public
- Provide presales support for prospects including data review, product demonstrations and analytic problem solving
- Deliver web ‐ based training sessions for customers and prospect
- Provide proactive support to customers and prospects
- Backup the technical support staff as needed

**Knowledge and Skills Requirements**:

- Excellent computer skills ‐ must be proficient in analytic software programs Excellent quantitative ability ‐ strong aptitude for statistics or analytics
- Well organized/Enjoy problem solving
- Strong presentation skills to both business and technical audiences
- Ability to solve problems with varying degrees of difficulty
- Familiarity with databases and data analysis tools
- Familiarity with network and web infrastructure is a plus
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Technical skill and/or ability to acquire in ‐ depth knowledge and use of Tableau products
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications
- Ability to work independently and multi ‐ task
- Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills
- Handle details accurately and in a timely manner
- Strong work ethic
- Effectively gives and receives feedback Uses good judgment and tact
- At least 3 years of relevant experience
- Proven experience succeeding in the sale of software to business users in all industries
