**Responsibilities**:

- To develop a business plan by carrying out market research in relation to the area of responsibility and develop current and future business opportunities in order to achieve the targeted Gross Written Premium, Budget Underwriting Results and Business Targets.
- To deliver and enhance the highest level of client satisfaction by working with intermediaries to map and determine their business needs in delivering superior client service.
- Underwrite and accept risks within delegated authority as specified in Underwriting Guidelines, Treaty and Acceptance Limits in order to achieve effective implementation of business.
- To place Facultative Reinsurance for risks exceeding Treaty capacity, and/or for the purpose of minimizing and spreading risk exposure.
- Implement agreed underwriting measures to attain targeted loss ratios and rates.
- To comply and execute the company's risk management and governance's guidelines.
- Ensure that Property & Casualty technical and operational underwriting standards, procedures and controls are complied with.
- Ensure workflow, service standards and timelines are met.
- Supervise and mentor staff to ensure that they are providing excellent customer service with high level of productivity.
- Engage and undertake projects or other duties which may be assigned.

**Qualifications**:

- Minimum 3 to 5 years' experience in marine insurance underwriting and business development, or marine insurance broking.
- Excellent knowledge of marine insurance, particularly cargo
- Service-orientated with good communication & negotiation skill
- Strong business acumen
- Good analytical mind and decision making even under pressure
- Able to mentor the staff
- Able to work under tight timelines and performance oriented
- Strong connection and/or close rapport with intermediaries
