Associate Director, Events
**What is the opportunity?**
As the Associate Director, Events, you will lead all aspects of client / target audience event activities. Your main responsibility is to lead and manage marketing related event activities from conception to execution, while adhering to compliance, regulatory and internal policies. Reporting directly to the Head of Marketing, Wealth Management (“WM”) Asia, while collaborating as part of a larger global Marketing team across Wealth Management, you will deliver events in Asia and contribute towards RBC Wealth Management’s brand and marketing initiatives.
You will be crucial to executing a part of RBC WM’s marketing efforts through your knowledge of target segment and industry. You will work closely with Asia marketing, global marketing, front office, product partners, legal and compliance teams. Your goal is to help increase awareness of brand, deepen existing client relationships, and create opportunities to engage prospects, establish and maintain brand standards across events activities.
**What will you do?**
- Understand target audiences and develop an event plan that supports Marketing strategy and business goals
- Plan and deliver physical/digital/hybrid events from concept to execution, including identifying the right format / platform (and partners) for the event, engaging and managing internal and external partners
- Collaborate with teammates, global marketing teams and the business to assist on idea generation, overall event management and data analysis
- Maintain event calendar and attendee tracking information, reporting and manage event budgets to plan
- Responsible for end to end event management of varied events across the region including client events, sponsored events, internal events and conferences
- Sourcing and negotiating with venues, suppliers and coordinate necessary items to create a successful event
- Working with partners in compliance, legal and data privacy to appropriately ensure regulatory guidelines are observed
**What do you need to succeed?**
**Must-have**
- Degree or equivalent is required
- The role would typically require a minimum of 7 years of experience in event management or marketing related activities ideally in the corporate financial sector
- Must think strategically and creatively identifies problems and offer solutions
- Must be able to multi-task, work under tight deadlines and work autonomously and collaboratively
- Previous knowledge/experience of executing digital and in-person events, and event management (administrative, budget, reporting)
- Excellent organisational skills and exceptional attention to detail and ability prioritise workloads to meet internal & external client demands
- Ability to adhere to company & regulatory policies, procedures and controls
- Proficiency in MS Office suite

- Strong knowledge of different suppliers and services available in the Region to reach target audience (including digital)
- Confident individual able to demonstrate utmost discretion and professionalism at all times
- A strong team player who is committed and enthusiastic in approach and has a flexible, can-do attitude
