Role Purpose

**Responsibilities**

Key responsibilities
- Leads the development and execution of FX exchange software development, setting and driving the achievement of KPIs and objectives through effective leadership and ensuring alignment with the broader Group technology strategy.
- Fosters a culture of continuous improvement in both internal processes and practices, and external solutions and deliverables
- Provides leadership, coaching and development to the Software Development team to drive high performance
- Designs, develops and delivers software solutions that align with architecture, operational and risk processes
- Works closely with architecture and technical product managers to deliver products, services, enhancements and solutions to meet customer needs and align with the goals of the business line
- Executes Scrum processes used by multi-discipline teams and execution of associated practices, as appropriate
- Deputizes at key meetings where necessary

**Essential experience**:

- Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering or equivalent
- More than 2 years of experience in technical leadership
- Foreign Exchange Trading technology
- Expertise in C++ 11/14/17
- Multi-threading & concurrency
- Experience in Agile development methodologies
- Proficient at delivering quality software
- Atlassian Jira and Confluence
- CICD tooling such as Git/Gitlab/Bamboo/BitBucket/Sonarqube
- Application Security Tools such as Veracode/Coverity/Blackduck
- Continuously adopt a pragmatic, flexible and responsive approach.
- Hands on experience of automation
- Linux, Windows

**Preferred**:

- FX Options knowledge
- FIX 5.x
- REST

Business and sector expertise
- Experience in FX industry & regulated environments required
- Experience in broader financial markets preferred
- Experience advising and communicating at a senior management level
- Leadership and management experience
- Experience in people management & technical thought leadership
- Experience managing vendor resources & teams
- Strong stakeholder management skills
- Personal skills and capabilities
- Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or Electronics / Electrical Engineering, or equivalent experience
